single player... HL... no mods, no online... just plain 'ole but never-the-less
EXCELLENT Half-life. We've got so caught up in throttling our m8s online that the offline single-player game is getting forgotten.
Looking back through the vault, you can see that, at the beginning, 99% of the maps here were for 'basic HL' then, gradually, as new mods continued to pour out, (and ideas ran fewer and fewer?!?) DM and CS maps started to take over, and well... enoughs enough!
Yeah they'll great... but it'll never beat that sensation and thrill as you run around a corner and come face to face with a full-loaded and pissed grunt, or along a deserted corridor only to have it collapse and for you to land in a room of zombies! This is what HL is about... the thrills, spills, and actually trying to accomplish an objective, rather than playing the same CS map for 2 hours... proving that you are
really better than tom, dick or harry!
...there I go again. sorry guys.
