Religion has only been with man since reasoned societies were formed surely? I dont think our 2 million year old ancestors looked at the sky and pondered the meaning of the universe and who put them there, more what the hell they were doing out at night with all the crazy prehistoric night beasts.
Only fools and idiots mock others beliefs. Look to the mind and thoughts of someone not their belifs.
I believe that a flying cucumber monster created you, you cannot mock me.

What I love about society is that when people do think up fucking crazy stuff and try to impose that on everyone because of their standing, people tell them what loons they are and ignore them cough tomcruiseholmes. The whole 'religious hatred bill' stood to stop any kind of mockery of religion, the cornerstones of comedy and free speech are our freedoms to show the silly side of something. See Rowan Atkinsons' entire speech to the commons on this subject, it was quite an interesting analysis of comedy and religion.
It does not dictate the nature of their being.
No but it can completely distort their reasoning because of an over-arching set of guidelines, I dont run my life according to one interesting opinion I read, else I'd read the Daily Mail.

Why is the origin of our species in africa a stupid theory? Given the worlds continents were probably all joined together 3 million years ago it wouldnt have been that difficult for it to spread out.

Everyone knows the earth is only 5000 years old, it just LOOKS old, because God made it that way to keep us guessing.

I'm never playing another online rpg ever again, I thought I could uphold that promise to myself after 2 years of UO, then I wasted 5 months on Anarchy Online, then WoW came out and was so massively better I wasted a year on that too.

Oblivion is much more fun anyway, though less 'sociable'

Goldeneye had so much auto-aim to compensate for the console controls.
my point was that the controls didnt matter, it still 'played' like one of the best fps' ive had the fortune to have

I dont see why they would stop servicing PC owners. They started and thrived on the PC. They wont just drop it.
Just like games companies bought out by Microsoft totally don't do this
Consoles are ok, but PC's are so much better. You can mod, upgrade, FPS controls are great.
Ever played goldeneye? You can buy a keyboard and mouse for most consoles anyway. The only thing pcs have going for them is the self modding/customisation of the games.
Xbox is limited to its hardware, and there is no modding.
Limited to its considerably-better-than-most-current-pc's hardware and mods are available, just through Microshifts Xbox portal

confusingly they're mostly powered by springs pulled back by electronic motors and nothing to do with the pump action air powered pellet guns you can get

If you have a gas powered pistol/SMG the 'green gas' can get pretty expensive.
Some green gas is just C02, you need a proper metal frame to use it without your gun blowing up at the same time, not many airsoft guns will take it. It also increases fps beyond legal guidelines (1Joule/328fps)

I thought id need to post a giant ramble about why airsoft is so clearly better than paintball, thanks for saving me the bother. The ONLY things airsoft has going for it is that its generally more accepted than airsoft, easier to get a group together for and you cant fake not being hit!

To each their own, PBF uses far more wit and visual comedy than any other webcomic i've read. Too many these days are as cliche as your average american sitcom.

yes, but you'd find it funny if he put a picture of a dog in one of the panels for no reason. Of course I couldnt create a comic to save my life. I do understand what makes a good comic though, for reference browse a few at http://cheston.com/pbf/archive.html , he can achieve in 3 panels what most artists can't do in 9.

in 10 ways to destroy the Earth. Post #176895
its probably one of those theoretical machines like a perpetual motion device, it can never exist in our understanding of engineering because there can never be perfection

if i understand these are basically self-replicating 'naninites', tiny little robots able to manipulate matter at the atomic level (atom by atom) and reproduce themselves by rearranging (or modifying in some way) materials at the atomic level. E.g. if it was made entirely of carbon it would just move a bunch of carbon atoms around until it was another of itself, which could then create another and another ad infinitum

If each was created only out of the elements of the earth, then each could reproduce themselves by eating up more of the earths elements, the net result being all the earths elements becoming squillions of little robots instead of the raw materials they are supposed to be

America was fully isolationist upto WW2, I thought everyone knowed that. It wasnt until they realised its probably a bad idea to let Europe be taken over by a madman/pearl harbour when their foreign policy changed.

Our countries are so different now though that you can't draw that many parallels, hell the UK was practically a socialist nation only 30 years ago.

Lets turn this from religious discussion into a 'was it right for american to invade iraq' debate, I say No, there are much more pressing matters in the world and the fact Iraq is on one of the worlds largest oilfields was obviously a contibutory factor

Isolationist, since if we intervene in genocides and the like we're "bullies" and we shouldn't be policing the globe, if we don't, we're "selfish." So I figure don't help and keep our money.
Remind me of that time when america stopped darfur from happening because it was more important than the great and terrible genocide that was Iraq
