I'm almost certain you have to provide a bumpmap image and specify it in the material VMT, as explained in the SDK doc.

I said megabytes. I didn't indicate a timebase, therefore it's evidently storage or allocation as opposed to transfer. If I'd said 4MBs^-1, then okay, but I didn't. What happened to not spamming?

I do the same, along with my FTP server. It's using around 4MB of 1024, which is 0.4%.

HLfix (Google) can produce MAPs from RMFs. Try it.
