unsupported hardware
And Vista supports all hardware fine? Pfft.

I can agree with less compatible (even though Linux can pretty much run anything Windows can) and harder to use (even though Ubuntu is so easy to operate a child could do it) but more expensive? Kid me not! Vista alone costs a MINIMUM of like $130, and the hardware required to run it quite a lot more. Almost all Linux distros are free and run on almost anything. Stop being a stupid douche.

I found my self laughing at these absurd dolls arranging themselves (by will? skynet, etc) in some very innuendo-ing positions before falling down. Honest to god, they were butt-plumbing eachother good.

Oh, and my angry-rant post was also to discredit Alex Jones credibility, as he actually does believe a superior space reptile race are in control of the power seats of the world.

Or was that some other infowars loon? Blah. In any case, they're all fear-mongerers.

I mock it because most conspiracy theories are ridiculous and have very little fact to back them up, not simply because I don't believe in them. I'm tired of conspiracy nuts claiming supreme evils are conspiring against people to enslave them in their wicked schemes for power.

I'm not saying this conspiracy theory is downright wrong, I'm just tired of all these quasi-scientific theories about what did and did not happen.

Problem is though, you would still need Windows for mapping, gaming, etc. I don't know how much of that you do, but wouldn't that interfere with your goal of running a Microsoft-less system?
You can run Windows apps through WINE or Cedega. The latter costs jew gold though.

I really hate Microsoft, yesterday when I was talking with Hunter on MSN, I got a message saying that the name Bill Gates was used during that chat instance and that the conversation was now monitored. They can go to hell.
Not likely. Do you really habeeb that?

It's called a Linux distro (short for distribution), not version. I'd go for Ubuntu, it's awesomely easy to use and set-up and really user friendly. You really don't need anything "heavier".

Otherwise, just get your dad to pay or get one of those bank cards kids can have.

Well, you get tired of mapping fairly quickly. Two mini-compos this close to each other? Meh. Also, the theme for the first compo was excellent - after all, all we do is map hallways, so it's an easy one to attach to, if you know what I mean.
This one was a bit vague.

I wish someone invented a rival alternative to Steam - something stable and cough better
EA Link? OH LAWD IS DAT SUM LAUGHABLE ^___^.

I'm sure moar and more alternatives will pop up due to the success of steam. I guess the best part of Steam and digital distribution is that more money goes to the developers instead of greedy distributors (not in the case of EA Link, mind you). I think Valve takes around half of what "physical" distributors take.

the pros vastly outweigh the cons, which are being ironed out.
There are pros?

Steam is nothing special. I'd much rather prefer individual games. It was supposed to be this release platform for "episodic gaming" but now that that idea's gone down the shitter (2 years for Episode Two? omg fu fgts) it's mostly just an annoying menu you have to open to play your games. It's a bother, honestly. There's absolutely no use for it.

You don't need to include zhlt.wad textures. They're included automatically. Other than that, anything other than standard half-life textures need to be -wadincluded.

Maybe if you hadn't been such a dumbass and forgot your account details you'd be able to play your game. That's like losing your car keys, then complaining to the makers of the car that you've got a brand new car that you can't drive, demanding a refund. Think, man, think.

DHTML Lemmings anyone?

Regarding C&C3 - it's actually decently fun. I like the campaign so far and the units are pretty kick-ass. It looks hell of a lot better than Generals too, despite them using the same engine. I don't know if I'd buy it though...

We have our own culture and way of life, and just because it isn't uppidy doesn't mean we're a bunch of fricken monkeys.
Meh, I don't mind your lifestyle - American and "European" culture (it's several countries, mind) is identical, compared to say Asian. It's more often your country's imperialistic foreign policies that tend to tick people off.
Honestly, I couldn't care less what music you listen to, or what clothes you wear, but when a country's policies affects the rest of the world, it becomes an issue. Especially when it has to do with unjustified wars and downright harmful economic interests.
