in Latest Weird Dream Post #79289
I can't seem to remember my dream yesterday... oh wait, I remember! I was some wierd kinda mountie with a friend o' mine at college and we kept evacuating this school in a fire drill. There kept being some old man who we had to get out who was lost and then he kept running off and getting robbed by zany bandits, and then we had wierd-ass old-fashioned guns and we were chasin' after them.

Search the forums, SlayerA has solved this in the past. The solution's slightly complex though.
Or you could, of course, just stop the monsters getting near the changelevel point.

Are you talking about having a tutorial just telling people how to use a third-party piece of screen-cap software? Seems most pointless to me. They should just experiment with it or read the manual :|

I reckon they spent too much time on the engine and too little on the game itself. Maybe HL?'ll be more impressive if they're, as I've heard, gunna re-use Source.

I think you should use proper English if you want any respect on this forum from anyone.

If you'd actually read enough, you'd've found it's not really that great an idea to post your "first map". I didn't, and most of the regulars here didn't. Practise, practise, and don't release anything until you know nearly everything.

I don't think getting people to play with stuff other people've already made is gunna help them learn too much, either.

Just have to practise, in my opinion. If you don't, you won't ever make anything worth playin'.

I'd say 8 and play it, too. Probably. Although it's hard to go back to 1.6 from Source.
You know, you could have the hostages in boxes with glass sides, or cages, and you have to push them to the hostage rescue point. All you have to do is have a lip so that the hostages can't get to the spawn by pushing.

I'd suggest that you have a trigger_push with a good high value pushing the CTs away from their spawns (and keeping them away) so that they had to find the proper ones.

You could do it with little cubicles, too, but it'd be a bit more work. Still, you might want some wierd stasis chamber sorta effect.

Sounds pretty original, good luck with it :)

There're plenty of very dark maps, and you can't place NVGs in the map itself, so people'd have to fight in the dark for a round or two before they could buy 'em :
