The names are what matter to Half-Life and Zoner's. Their appearance is irrelevant - it'll just look different to you in Hammer.

All that Windows' labelling of programs as "Not Responding" means is that the programs are ignoring Windows' nagging pokes and so MS is getting their own back on 'em. You could run the tools with the argument -low if you wanted, or just be patient.

Yeah, make sure that you've got halflife.wad in the right directory - although I can't see why you would've moved it.

The main completely-new stuff in Source is the entities, I reckon. This is from a mapper who has played one sole map of his own so far (work, work, work :().

I thought most physics for multiplayer Source games were solely client-side and unsynchronised? My friend and I certainly found that on CS:S (corpses).

As for the water thing, I know the problem. I'd say to use a trigger_hurt instead and set the water's damage to 0.
