Try using hl2.exe from the game folder as shortcut instead of Steam shortcut.
Nope, +map mapname is still being ignored.
at least try -appid instead...
You mean -appid <id>?
That does nothing. It only activates the Steam UI.

The point here is that there was no need to tell CStriker he sucked. Im sure we all know how buggy Source can be at times.

Now i consider myself an experienced GoldSource mapper, but im having trouble figuring out how you did this one:

As far as i know textures won't (texture) lock if you shear a brush, so how did you do it?

Played it a couple of weeks ago, for as much as i love rockets and space, it was suggested to me by another TWHL member who i can't remember. It's a fun little "simulator". I put that in quotes because this game is nowhere to be compared with simulators like Orbiter and Space Shuttle Mission 2007 so it's not to be taken serious as it's more about playing with physics, thus making it more like a casual game.

It's funny that rockets launch without receiving damage from acoustical energy caused by the exhaust because there's no flame trench on the launchpad to deflect the exhaust away from the rocket.

I hope they add a lot more detail to the entire complex and go a little bit more realistic, for example, adding a flame trench.
But whatever, it's about physics, so who cares.

@Tawnos: I tried the 512x version on Minecraft with Aether Mod + Seasons Mod + minimap mod but it did'nt run at all. I guess 4 gigs of ram really isn't enough. Loading the texturepack takes several minutes as well as loading the world.

Then i tried a clean installation of MC without any mods with the exception of MCPatcher and i got about 30+ frames. Still, loading the texturepack and the world takes several minutes.

The pack looks great and i'd use it if i had enough ram, i guess 4 GB isn't gonna cut it.

I'll stick to Faithful32 + Aether for now.

@Urby: Indeed, but they are a pain in the butt to install.

I can add the +map parameter to any game, except to Source mods because only then Steam or whatever ignores it.

Adding the +map parameter to the launch option tab is not the solution im looking for as i want to do it outside Steam.

That's weird.
I use SHLT 3.9 and it finds my lights.rad just fine.
Both versions should be able to read the same lights file as it's just text.

They look the same except for the last couple of entries in lights.rad which are probably your custom textures. I don't see anything wrong with those.

Are you sure the compiler is using lights.rad and not valve.rad?
See what happens if you delete valve.rad, you don't need it anyway, lights.rad is supposed to be the default rad file.

Yeah, the '~' is not required, but it can be usefull to let you (and perhaps others) know you're dealing with a light emitting texture.

It think the problem is your brightness value:

mytexture 255 200 100 1000

For light emitting textures, that value is way to low. Brightness values easily go beyond 10000. Depending on your texture's dimension, set the value accordingly. Here's how i determine the brightness based on the dimensions:

Spotlight, 16x16, 32x32: between 4000 and 10000
Large ceilling light (like the fifites fluorescent tube lights) 64x64, 64,80: between 10000 and 20000

I don't think you can do such a thing in vanilla Half-Life, but if you use Spirit of Half-Life you can just parent a func_hurt to the train have it move with the train.

Why the fuck does'nt this work:

D:/Steam/Steam.exe -applaunch 420 -game <full path to my sourcemod> +map mapname

This should launch my sourcemod using the Episode Two engine and load the specified map.

It does that, except that it's not loading the specified map. Why?
I also tried the Steam URL protocol:

steam://rungameid/14981334682858160548 +map mapname

This also only launches the mod, but not the map. The same thing happens when i try an original Source game, like Half-Life 2:

steam://rungameid/220 +map mapname

That launches Half-Life 2, but not the map.

@Captain: If you do that in Hammer 4.x, you could use the propper to make an actual model out of it, then convert it back for use in GoldSource.

I think Soup Miner knows how to convert Source models to GoldSource models.
