Basically, if you scale the texture down a lot then it will increase the r_speeds and the opposite if you scale it up.

All I've seen is the 4 screen thingy.
What the hell? Are you saying you use an editor with ONE VIEWPORT!?

If your PC can't run Hammer then you might as well use it as a weapon. Drop it on peoples' heads. More interesting than a doorstop or paperweight.

in WebSites hosting servers Post #55161
Ah, I see. Well, first off, all that a server is is a normal computer. Then whoever owns it sticks special software on it to serve particular files. Free webservers are for hosting websites. They often have FTP, etc.

You will have to pay for a dedicated server unless you can find the book-a-server free service that was around awhile ago on some HL site.

Get a new PC or all-new components (new mobo for AGP + new graphics card, you'd almost certainly have to get new RAM and a new CPU).

Sounds like a general computer problem to me too.

Usual boring time-consuming PC maintenance, defragging, scandisk/equiv, virus-scan, Ad-Aware and Spybot S&D, check your tasklist for CPU usage.

As for the select tool, tick "Allow infinite selection without enter" somewhere in Options.

Try logging on as somebody with administrator priveliges and configuring Hammer there if you're on an NTx system.

in GFCScape not doing anything Post #54847
Uh, well, it's quite simple. You select the folder to extract to, it extracts it.

If it isn't doing so, perhaps it is incapable of extracting entire directories. This isn't necessary anyway, you only need the WADs.

Put the WADs on the same drive as Hammer and your compile tools (which should be Zoner's from the links page or your maps will all rot and die horribly). Do not extract resources from the GCF into your Steam directories.
