hey.. i decompiled the cstrike folder and was checking out the wads.. and i found a texture called reflectl.. does anyone know how to use this?
cause i was hoping i could make a mirror or something for one of my levels!

Half-life does not have code for mirrors. You could though make a mirror shaped brush, make it see-through and reverse the room and put it on the other side of the mirror.

hmm thats odd i never seen a mirror ther wel i havent played cs in a while well if the mirror reflects the player then i hav no idea how they did that cause a lot of threads say its impossible to make a mirror that relflects a person but u can make a mirror seethrough and copy the entire room and rotate it opposite to the map and place it so it faces the mirror and voila a sort of mirror in a cheating kind of way

very clever as well actually :D

It is impossible. They probably had a func_wall that had the room 'mirrored' on the other side...there's a tut on it here.

Hl2 will have mirrors for sure because in for example in cs:source you can see people comming up behind in the awp scope the glass mirrors everything. Also the floor reflects VERY WELL.

plus if it didn't, all you would do is make the mirror a "monitor", and the camera facing the other direction of the mirror.

you no the graphics on hl2 are supreme but sumtimes i prefer the old graphics of hl (in other words if they could apply all the upgrades e.g bigger maps, more entities,sequences etc then i would apply all those with the old hl graphics)

do u think the graphics are supreme ##

they look like everquest 2 graphics but a lot better! :confused: :confused: :o :o

yeah i noticed that too.. sorry but i didnt notice that dude..
but still hope i could use a mirror texture in hl2
