1.3 removed the scoped m4a1, and added the ak, if i remember correctly, not sure about teh awp as i never really used it anyway.

and cs 1.5 isn't cs:source, no.
it's a third party game released for use on steam, plus steam runs better than WON, has a better anti cheat system, even if it is slow to catch hax0rs, and it allows third party games to be added and played very easily, allowing your mod to be accessed by a lot more people.

someone else brought up stairs, i was just giving my point of view about "stair-hopping", i think tehy were talking about the chunky "steps" and pavements etc, a 16 unit high step is too high to look good, it's just a fact.

and about the water, so what if it's 7 textures instead of 1? It looks a f**k sight better than halflife water (that's not an insult, merely another fact), so just give it a try and you'll be surprised at how much it helps your poly's in teh long run. If you make it so that teh player cannot reach teh fountain you could have solid brushes saving on e poly if you needed to, it's all there for you to experiment with.

And omfg, teh telephone poles, there's a reason why |I mentioned them, teh same reason you're getting pissed off, because you don't have any...
show me a city taht doesn't have wires and poles all over teh place, ven calcutta has taht sh*t, it's basic city infrastructure.

So I said I had some models taht you could use, because you said your w poly was already high.

Fuck's sake, not everything I say to you is an insult, it's just most of what you say gets on my tits.

Or, using ZHLT tweak them to your liking, but I'd just not bother putting a light in, or use a light environment and max out the brightness.

yeha, you can get 1.3 and 1.5, not sure about 1.4 atm, but you install it into teh Halflife folder and start it through "Third Party Games" liek NS/TS/HI/etc.

Also, when making stairs (8 units as advised) it is a good idea to make a ramp textured with clip so taht the player walks down smoothly and doesn't have teh annoying "stair jump" phenomenon, where the player walks down stairs, constantly having to adjust their crosshair. most annoying.

Actually I just have a condition that means my fingers move faster than my eyes, so I hit the wrong key, i type : they, as tehy, for teh same reason, and there's many otehr words I cannot type properly, so please don't poke fun at my affliction. And just reading back through taht I have noticed 3 more errors, and they weren't on purpose. I got "they" right taht time, muahaha, sh*t, I f**ked up "that" though. lol

And about telephone poles, what are you on about you don't have any, and it's halflife. I said I have a load of models that I will send to you so taht you can use them and keep r_speeds down. And give teh map more detail.

you aren't wanting to put monsters in cs ? no, didn't think so, although there is an amx mod capable of doing that ;)

to insert a model into a CS (or any HL based mod) map:

step 1. look for tutorials

step 2. download hammer 3.5 and the fgd that supports viewing models in hammer itself.

resources here - hammer 3.5 and here -fgd

step 3. after setting it all up (drag and drop hammer 3.5.exe over hammer 3.4.exe and creating a new Game Configuration using the new fgd - set it up for steam, as 1.5 and < don't support models like 1.6 < does), you place a point based entity in your map, select a cycler, open it's properties and browse teh model line, you need to select a model from your C:/steam/steam apps/your@email.com/counter strike/cstrike/models folder, if you don't have any in there, download some from the doenerking's site, or browse Google.

Once you have selected your model you will be taken back to teh cycler's properties screen, double click teh model line, and copy the model's path (ie: models/tree.mdl).

Now pull down the drop-down list, and select cycler_sprite. By drop-down list, I mean the little tab above the entities properties list, where you chose cycler from at the begining.

Now in the cycler_sprite's properties paste the model's path into the sprite line.

Use the Black Circle with a White line as a radius to adjust teh model's direction (teh top down view corrallates to teh white line).

Now close teh cycler_sprite's properties and you should be looking at a wonderful model in your map.

If it crashes as you close it, then you need to create a new Game Configuration from Hammer eg: Tools/Options../Game Configurations.

And select only the 3.5 fgd you downloaded earlier.

If you can't see the model, it's just a small purple cube, you need to create a new Game Configuration as above.

The reason we use a cycler first is so that we can copy teh model's path exactly, don't try to type it in manually, as you will eventually make a mistake.

Remember model's can only be used from the mod's directory and nowhere else on your pc.
When releasing your map you must include teh model's like you would include sounds etc.

i think you need a new water texture, that is just a halflife water texture you renamed to scroll_water. a tex doesn't need scroll in teh name to actually scroll. and try making the fountain with a bit more flair.

I just spent 20 minutes trying to get you a pic, but teh only example is linked in with about 15 other pics, so i'm not going to post it, but you should have teh water come out a little, then go down.

also, I have some excellent streetlight models you can use, to keep teh [u][i]r_speeds[/u][/i] down (lol)
plus i got a load of good city type models.

if this map isn't for cs then what is it for?

remember too many entrances/exits and buildings makes for long gameplay (unless it's a deathmatch mod)

I have a great water texture too.

think about putting a few thigns on top of the rooves, like arials (spellcheck =/) and antennas, possibly experiment with a few smaller buildings on top and behind teh existing ones, to give a feeling of depth.

you need telephone poles ( i got some good models of those too) and teh cables going into teh buildings.

and don't f**k it up by putting myg0t music or pictures in tehre. if you do i will... well, there's not alot i can threaten you with, but i will in fact eat your brains.

myg0t are f**king pathetic, anyone who respects or advertises them should be castrated

TWHL all teh way, unless the map sucks, then kindly remove all blasphemous evidence

cs has been updated more than halflife.

i never liked teh doom series (unless i was seriously stoned - I mean, blue key red key yellow key, kill teh boss.. gets repetitive after 20 levels)

cs is not the best mod, i thought we already agreed to disagree.

oh I know, but then again nothing is too hard if you put your mind to it.
don't speak for atom because who knows, maybe someone will agree with me that TWHL could expand furtehr and reach even more people.
there is not 1 comprehensive model database for all teh free models made by people.
I'm sure modellers would like a place for tehir stuff to be released and rated etc.
there's a number of forums and such.
but the problem is always space, teh way TWHL does the maps is great, you can submit it and have otehrs work on it. that's a fantastic idea, and could be used greatly with models.
it's just a matter of building up a big enough area of people to want to come and talk about/help each out.

it's a long way from being a finalised idea, but i believe that it could work. even if it was a vault of models organised into categories such as prefabland (but not prefabs, as that is taking the piss)
models are so useful it would be a shame to overlook this opportunity, and my offer still stands, i'm willing to put in the cash for this,
i think it will bring in a lot more people to TWHL.
