Maybe you're not an administrator and Hammer can't write to the registry. If it stores its settings there.

VM = vertex manipulation.

You've somehow created an invalid brush. Delete it and your map will probably compile.

Thanks for posting properly, too. Coherent and appropriately-titled. A good example.

97: I guess you downloaded Hammer 3.5 without reading what it said. Get 3.4, install it, then get 3.5 and overwrite hammer.exe with the new one.

Add textures. You need some WADs, presumably including cstrike.wad, but you can map on a computer without access to the game itself as long as you have all the other resources.

I've never heard of a download-hiding problem with IE. I know you can disable "downloads", but... go for Opera. IE is a stolen c.1992 browser and Microsoft don't seem to have done much to it since.

I checked with an extremely simple model and the epoly was still the same
In that case part of the level is modelled, or you can see the hostages (dodgy VIS).

To get the HUD, don't run the game from Hammer. Start CS, then start hosting a LAN game.
