I would just simply roll on the floor if there is a giant turtle in the outside scenery of Zeebro's map.

Ok addressing things:
Nice one, Rim, im in.
Awesome.
Say, is this going to be combined into a mod a la cubicles?
Yes for now, but I don't have any hosting right now so probably no.
you were tasked with designing new and innovative pools for the business and you're covertly relaying that onto us, hoping to avoid doing the major work.
I work in retail.
he doesn't like pools because he knows what chemicals go into them.
I sell those chemicals.
Is this about scenery/eyecandy or about actual gameplay?
Eyecandy. Gameplay could be added but not necessary. Might lift the player restrictions if by popular demand people want game play.

Tron: Legacy

Never seen the original, so it was awesome to go for a big movie blow out while sick in bed. I think I almost like the first one better? I dunno. Loved all of the references to the first one. I wish they would make a Tron Legacy game with all of the stuff from the movie and have it not suck like movie games always do.

The top of the chair in the middle, that triangle point there, you need to weld some vertices. What creates that faceted polygon is some vertices that are near each other but are not welded.

Tip: Any 90 degree arch with 3 sides has its vertexes on the grid at any width. This is crucial to know for a trick I've been using to make smooth displacement stuffs.

Here's how.

Create a 3 sided arch at desired width and texture it. Add brushes to straighten out the ends at about the same length of the segments.
User posted image
Now on its sides, add 2 more of the SAME WIDTH and line them up accordingly.
User posted image
Select all of the tops and make them a power 2 displacement.
User posted image
With them still selected, click the subdivide button.
User posted image
Delete the side arches and displacements to reveal your more-efficient-than-Twister super smooth curve.
User posted image
I use this for a variety of things besides terrain. :3

How about more activities? More things for the community to do. Consistent competitions, MotM stuff that is current and up to date, and more mini-compos that challenges mapping, modeling, texturing, whatever is fun. That'll keep the community booming.

Given newcomers come with SOME prior knowledge of what they are doing, then yeah. If we launch and they come here looking for Unreal help and we don't have it, it might be difficult to keep new members for other engines. So anyone who knows anything about other engines besides gold/source will have to keep on their toes.
