So, did you try to use trigger_push? Because it should work.
And if you did - how did you set it up?

Remeber that you have to turn it on (because default is off) - you need to give it a force and you need to give it a direction to push

And whatever it is - how did you make it?

It happens all the time for all source mappers (?).

Fix it by selecting the camera tool in the tools menu to the left where all the other tools are (vertex, brush etc...) and create a camera in one of the 2D views (Press and drag), and then it works.

Edit: oh - it was already sloved, I missed that

in Problem With Displacements Post #209764
Did you select the face with the blend texture before creating the displacement?

If you want to make displacement out of just one side, you select that side, and no other.
You probably selected the nodraw-sides aswell.

To select a single face you simply select the texture-applying tool and click on the face wich you want to select, and then create the displacement.
To select more than one face, press and hold CTRL.

Worldcraft dude:
I'm not saying that you are wrong, this is just my opinion.
A bacteria is a bacteria, it's small and doesn't react on things like a bigger creature does.
For example, we have internal organs.
What I'm saying is that I find it quite unlikley that something big could survive in as harsh condition as something small.

And no, I'm not a bigologist so I'm just stating what I think seems reasonable.
Water might not even be a factor, period.
As said earlier in the thread, of course there could be lifeforms based on other elements.
But what the scientists has observed when "dirty water" and sun-light was combined was pretty convinsing.
What the combination seemed to create was some kind of a cell.
But perhaps other alien lifeforms aren't cell based?
Who knows?

Oh yeah - forgot that.
Now when you brought it up I remember that they've even found life in boiling water, weird.

But there must be a limit, too cold or too hot.
I mean, a planet too close to the sun, or too far away should probably not be able to have any life, perhaps bacteria, but no big lifeforms

I don't see how we can make claims like that if we have only ever seen life on Earth,
Of course we (and all Earth creatures) have evolved by depending on water, probablly because the Earth is 70-80% water

So we should not make assumptions about the universe based on what we see here.
Of course you're right about that.
It's just a theory.
But still, a life form could probably not live in too cold enviroments, or too hot enviroments.
Therefore there is something called a "life-zone" around every sun, if there is a planet orbiting inside this life-zone it's likley to have life.

The reason we think water is the root of life is because the sun was once much hotter than it is today, and there was water on Mars.
By then, Mars had life wich we have found in the form of fossils under the surface.
When the water freezed and Mars went all cool the life died.
However there still might be life on Mars far under the surface where there might be small underground water-channels

As far as I know, Mars doesn't have any heavy elements on it's surface, and therefore there is no radioactivity.
The radiation you're talking about is the one coming from the sun because Mars doesn't have any great protection against that.
The storms are just dust particles flying around.

Also, as far as I know, no mars-expedition has gone wrong because of storms on the surface/radiation.
Or am I wrong?

Remember that life can only be created in certain enviroments.
Water is needed (at least we think so) and should therefore not be too cold or too hot.

They say that the cells themself was created out of "dirty" water and sunshine.
If you put dirty water under the sun you will notice how the molecules starts to create "cell-lookalike shapes".
Just something that I've heard of...

If you want to destroy every asteroid after exactly 10 seconds you could probably you a logic_timer and just kill it.

An other way to do it is that you could parant (or just put it in the place where the asteroids lands) an env_explosion and some smoke to the asteroid wich is activated after 10 seconds, the explosion would surley destroy the asteroid, and the smoke would make it look sexy

No, I believe they are all proveable.
Big bang is a theory, because it does not go against anything confirmed, matter can be created out of nothing.

I can't just guess the age of earth, that would be unscientific.
But I could try to calculate it, wich would be scientific.

Evolution is a theory, and idea, does not need to be proveable.
A theory doesn't need to be proveable to be a theory
There is nothing to it wich goes against anything else we know (I'm not great at biology but at least I think so)

And how do you confirm theories?
"Science" is only things that can be absolutely proven and confirmed?
Of course you can prove a theory.
For example, Einsteins theory about spacetime being bended around massive bodys was confirmed by shooting a beam of light and see how it also was bended (or by looking at lightsources behind the sun)

A scientific model however, is something wich CAN be proven or confirmed, for example, "Outside the universe there are nothing but bananas", it can't be proven or confirmed and therefore it's not a scientific-model.

lol define
Men in white coats?
lol, no.
"Actuall-science" should be based on theories/ideas that has been confirmed.
If something you say works against a theory or an idea that has been confirmed it's no longer science, just fantazy (except the conflict between quantum-mechanics and the theory of relativity, but that's a whole other thing so don't bring that up)
Also, if these aliens and all that is a big coverup and they are doing everything in secret, then they would kill us for writing what we are writing here, right? I mean, we know their secret! :o

I do believe in aliens, as Sari said
The universe is so friggin' gigantic that there has to be at least one other planet with intelligent life.
But have they ever visited us?
No way.

The closest star is Alpha Centauri, wich is 2 lightyears away from here.
"Oh but it only takes 2 years to travell then?"
Yes, if you can travel in the speed of light, a technology like that is possible, but not likely.
According to Einstein you can't travel faster than the speed of light, so getting to earth in less than 2 years time is in theory impossible
Also, 2 years is quite a long time.
I don't think they would travell for 2 years to get to our planet if they do not know if there is life here (we've not recived any radio-contact from alpha centauri and if there is life on alpha centauri they do not have radio-tech so they would not know that we are here)

Edit: Oh, there is of course a small possibility of so called "Wormholes", using those they could be able to travel to our solar-system, but scientists has not confirmed wormholes yet.
Also, keep in mind that they must know that we're here before making the trip, if they do not know that we're here then I don't think they would do the trip just for fun.

in Tank Controls ? Post #208691
You make a func_tank (I don't think the name was just "func_tank". but something similar) and then you make a trigger_multiple (and an info_target on the ground if you want NPC's to control it), the func_tank is.. the tank and the trigger_multiple will work as the control volume.
Inside the func_tank properties there is a way to select the controlvolume, select the trigger_multiple.

Of course there are many other things wich needs to be setup but to make a controlable func_tank you use control volumes

I don't recall how it's made exactly but when I return to my real computer I'll have a look because I have a map with a mounted gun

I haven't downloaded the map habboi linked too yet though, I'm not on the computer on wich I have Steam etc..

The hunter's and habboi's ideas seems good and easy too, but they both has the 360 problem, and you can probably still duck and all that.
I've heard that if you put the player inside a solid, the player will either be teleported out or start shaking like mad.

I'll try to try all of your suggestions and report the results.

If you would have read the other posts you would've known that the player would then be able to turn around 360, duck, jump(even though the ceiling is low enough) and walk, he wouldn't come anywhere by doing these stuff, but we don't want the player to be avable to do these things.

It just changed the view to whatever <pitch> <yaw> <roll> you entered.

But even if it would have restricted the views we couldn't have used it because the player would still have been enabled to jump and duck inside this invisible box.
