Although technically not a sequel, it does have a "2" in the title; Dudebro: My Shit Is Fucked Up So I Got to Shoot/Slice You II.

Yes, that's the title. Yes, it has the most bad-ass protagonist ever. Yes, it's being developed by members of an online community.

Also, major bump. Go me!

Well that's a pretty stupid suggesting, considering we already have a working, custom-coded forum solution. phpBB is crap, anyway. Produces horrible, messy code that's a lot larger than it needs to be.

Oh yeah, what was this thread about? Origins?

I was born in Stockholm, Sweden and have lived there all my life. My father's relatives are Swedish as far back as I know and my mother's parents escaped communist Latvia in the 1950's.

Have you been to Johannesburg lately? or anywhere in Africa? I don't think so or you would know that you can't just go anywhere in Africa and buy a computer
Again making the mistake of generalising an entire continent based on your vague perceptions of it. I'm pretty sure you can find several computer stores in Johannesburg (maybe one of these fine locations?) and most other major metropolitan areas in Africa.
And you really can't compare rural areas in America versus rural area(s) in Europe cause trust me I am pretty rural where I live and I can still get whatever I need pretty easy--like I said--5 minutes to the store.
And of course, where you live is entirely representative of the entire United States. Just like you know all rural areas in Europe are completely different. Generalisations, generalisations. Rarely good for anything, them.
Don't about Vatican City but I'm guessing there are no computer stores there.
Of course there are computer stores in the Vatican. Where else would the Swiss Guards get their computers?

Ok then, If I wanted to move to lovely Sweden...what would it be like for me there. I know they have plenty of stores but I still wouldn't know about the services. Online research only gives you so much.
Any big cities in any European country is fairly similar to any big city in America. I think the big difference lies between rural and metropolitan areas, not between continents. In big cities, you'll always find fast food joints, an abundance of stores, public transportation, etc. etc. The differences are quite minor, whether you're looking at New York, Paris, London or Amsterdam. Of course there are differences, but they're mostly cosmetic: instead of shopping at Wal-Mart you'll buy your stuff at IKEA.

As for computer stuffs in Stockholm there are plenty of stores, both physical and virtual. One isn't really easier than the other.

Really, metropolitan areas are fairly similar no matter where in the world you are. It's the sad truth of globalisation.

Holy shitnuggets, they cannot seriously be calling it that. Looks it up.

Oh God... that's just so preposterously ugly. I mean... what the hell. Almost as bad as this new trend of calling sequels (or prequels) just the original title (with maybe a slight modification): Rocky Balboa, Aliens Vs. Predator, Star Trek -- it's retarded.

I'm looking forward to ME3 and any eventual Half-Life sequels. And Cataclysm. Yes, I'm a WoW addict.

I won't criticize on your specific design, because I suck at design, but I will recommend you a few sites to inspire you - just see what elements and ideas you like and see if you can incorporate them into your own site. Just remember not to go overboard with graphics and style - always make sure the focus of the page is on the content itself.

My favourite band is, hands down, Swedish sausage-jazz ensemble 50 Hertz. Reminiscent of Slagsm?lsklubben but way more wacky, varied, lyrical and with more melody. Pure bliss!
Above all, Bassnectar is my very favorite.

Other favorites include The Avalanches(turntablism), Mistabishi(DnB and grime) and Broken Note(dubstep and DnB), but each of them only has 1 album.
Soup Miner++. I recommend trying out upcoming artist Telemetrik if you like good d'n'b.

As of late I've been exploring the more chill-y out-y sides of electronic music and have grown quite fond of it. If anyone's interested, I can recommend (recently deceased artist) Nujabes, Flying Lotus, Nosaj Thing, DJ Shadow, Pluxus's album Solid State. Also, this kid. Enjoyably strange, especially coupled with that gleeful 60's footage. I think he's a young and coming Australian or something?

On a musically unrelated note, have a listen to these three songs, especially if you're Swedish. If not, just enjoy the beats (and the incredibly strange video in #1).

Someone will need to draft up a list of regulations and requirements for each room. 2D skyboxes? Global lighting? Environment effects? etc. There needs to be limitations. I'm not well-versed enough in Source mapping to make the list, I've no clue what kind of global variables there are to be concerned.

If you aim to be mod leader, try to include a list of positions that needs to be filled. What needs doing, in terms of coding, level design, modelling, texturing? What do you plan to do? You said you've been working on it for 2 months... what have you done?

When recruiting for a mod, it's always a good idea to come in with some media - a few map screens or schematics, or something like that - shows people you're dedicated and willing to work. People are always reluctant to jump aboard a mod if they're afraid it won't go anywhere, since about 95% of mods never see a release (anyone remember Hostage Situation?).

As for the mod idea, I kind of like it - mainly because it's not a giant modification from the original game, and that makes it actually plausible to complete. I say it's always best to start small, and in comparison to other mods, this one seems to aim to do just that. Similar settings (abandoned research facility), similar gameplay. There does seem to be a need for quite extensive modelling, and in that respect, I hope you're willing to take up modelling yourself, finding quality modellers willing to work in GoldSrc is a rare occurrence.

Oh, and I won't be joining, of course. I don't map anymore.

Zombie sounds like he's just waiting for evidence. Sounds like an agnostic to me.
Agnosticism is taking a stance saying "I choose not to take a stance whether there's a God or not". I believe there's no God, because of a lack of evidence for any Gods.

Don't confuse strong atheism with atheism. Atheism is not, and has never been, being firmly sure there's no God or even slightly sure. It's just the position of disbelief in Gods.

Yes, you'd like to think that, but what do you base it on? Might as well be a Spaghetti monster (flying, perhaps) or the IPU or what have you. There are thousands of religions all claiming they have the answer, and billions of devout followers disagreeing with each other. Again, the atheist's response remains a solemn "we don't know".

If the big bang theory is correct, what caused it?
The atheist's proud answer to that question is "we don't know". And saying you don't know is better than accepting the first explanation that comes up, no matter how implausible it is--believing in something because of a lack of evidence makes no sense at all.

The first thing I thought of when reading the OP was "Godwin's law". Great minds, Dennis, my dear friend. Then I thought of this.

ChickenFist makes a good point. A lot of religionists tend to make the point that without religion, man's morals would falter. As it is now, there are millions of people completely without belief in the supernatural whose morals are just as good as anyone elses. I think a person's bringing up, no matter if it has anything to do with religion or not, means everything to shaping their morals later on in life.

Question is, how do you get an otherwise moral and decent person to commit atrocious acts of immorality? I think Al-Quaeda instructors and the leaders orchestrating the crusades would agree with the quote "with or without it you would have good people doing good things and evil people doing evil things. But for good people to do evil things, that takes religion".

While I might not agree with the absolutist tone of the quote (I think you can get good people to do evil using other tools than religious indoctrination), it does provide an interesting thought concerning religion's role in brainwashing and hate mongering.

Saw Avatar yesterday. Definitely worth a watch, even though the 3D didn't really add much (plus the glasses made my nose hurt). The script felt quite standard and similar to some other movie in particular, and it was quite predictable at times, but yeah, it's watchable for the stunning visuals on their own.

Did anyone else feel like it was shot in Zangarmarsh? Anyway, it's quite a fantastic world Cameron's created, and I must say I'm pretty interested in the sequel(s?).
