Not necessarily. RAD has run as one can visibly see shadowing in the image so it's obviously not a leak. It's just a HOM effect caused by not setting up the water properly. Add a water_lod_control and a cubemap with the brush face set to the top of teh water one, make sure it's not an entity, and that it's covered in NODRAW.

Hey, people can only take so much :/ - Enough annoyance from disrespectful members and other people start to get annoyed to an extreme enough degree to break. Everyone does it everwhere in real-life, even people who are/attempt to be respectful and mature all of the time.
Basically Source did was improve the physics and add a shitload of high poly models.
Wroooooong. Source is a new engine. Therefore, it's completely new code, a new rendering pipeline, as well as the VPhys/VProf system, an easy-to-use SDK for coders, and a vareity of new art content, including the models (which are LOD-controlled so they are high or low poly depending on the settings) and textures, which are detail-controlled as well.
A lot of people have a habit of repeating stuff they were told without researching it.
All too true. This brings us back to the 'don't post answers that you claim are perfectly accurate if you haven't tried it before' sort of issue, no?

The general point is, map what you want, when you want, and how you want. Noone's forcing you to make low-poly maps if you don't want to. They're simply trying to offer tips on how to make your map more popular and easier to play.

My personal habit is to place entities in 3d view :/

With practice, you improve. Noone went into Soruce thinking they'd make the next HL2 right from the start. Noone's expecting you to make it, either. Just start off at your own pace and build your skill at your own speed.

Grid is fine for me :/

Steam is actually rather tolerable. Just set it to start at startup and ignore it :F

It's included with Windows, and it can use your existing email, whether it's Microsoft-based or not. For example, my MSN address is the same as my email, rabidmonkey777@gmail.com, and that's not MS-based.

To access Messenger, just go Start - Run - Msmsgs or msnmsgr. One of the two will function, depending on how updated it is, unless you've uninstalled it.

Or, if it's a custom texture, just name the new texture the same as the old one and overwrite it in teh WAD. Only useful if you don't want the old texture anymore.

Make sure there aren't any leaks and that all the programs ran successfully. For some reason it doesn't show if you don't run VIS/RAD.

The hitboxes are fixed. Afaik, at least.

I agree, Train has some issues. The content it provides, though, is really useful for the type of maps I'm creating, maybe that's why I like it so much :P

I would have assumed VALVe learned from the annoyances in HL1 and changed them for their employees working on Source :)

I doubt they'll change VHE for HL1, it's becoming obsolete in their mind, probably :P

In the Outputs tab, add a new one. Set the first field to OnTimer. The second has your sound name, the last has the PlaySound bit.

Did you set the timer to have an output of OnTimer and the entity to your sound name and then a PlaySound?

Make sure you set it to use random time as well, if you're using a min and max value.

Make a physconstraint affecting it that has entity one as the physbox and two as the hinge. Set a break limit or something if you want it to be able to pull away with enough force, like the Hotel sign in Overwatch.
