TWHL is coded from scratch, and I don't think you'll ever find a CMS made specifically for map sites.

in Mapping for Far Cry 2 Post #256156
This is the video for the console version of the map editor. This is not the editor that the PC version will get (if it gets one), and is not the editor that Ubisoft used to make the levels for the game. No doubt it'll be similar - so don't go expecting Hammer's 4-window style view anymore.

Anyway, nearly all modern engines use heightmaps now, not to make the mapper's job redundant, but to make it easier for the mapper to work on large-scale, natural-looking terrain. Remember that real mappers can ask their co-workers to make the models that they need for them.

If you're lucky, the PC editor will let you use custom models. Anyway, you should be comparing this to the editor found in Halo 3, for example, or the old Tony Hawk games. Not Hammer.

The shape of the skybox doesn't matter (with exceptions - do some testing of your own to figure out what works and what doesn't), but it must be textured with the tools/toolsskybox texture.

Does that answer your question?

ME was a fail operating system in general. Vista is like ME version 2, one of MS's biggest fails ever :P

As for formatting, I do it about once every year. It speeds up your computer by quite a bit.

Don't bother, it doesn't work. Ever. The first thing I do when I reinstall Windows is to disable it, because it wastes resources and slows down installs by creating "recovery points" which take ages to create.

I repeat, Windows system recovery never works. Don't even bother trying it. Format your computer and start fresh.

I never overclock anything. The risk outweighs the advantage, which is so small that it doesn't even matter anyway. One thing I recommend is that you get a much bigger hard drive. Look at all the gigs/cost ratios and find the best one. Here 500GB drives are the best value, but it might be different over there.

Also, don't bother with DDR3. Price outweighs performance. I say stick with XP too. You may also want to consider getting a better video card, but I understand if you want to stick with the 9600 for the price.

One more thing - don't use the default power supply. for the price it is, I doubt it's a quality brand, and the PSU is the most important part of your system. I got a cheap PSU once, and it almost fried my whole computer. Luckily I got it out before it started shorting, because I could feel the heat of it on my leg (through the case, and through the air. It was fucking hot.)

1. close steam, and move the steam/steamapps folder somewhere else
2. get rid of steam any way you can (important, you need to remove all traces of steam. uninstall it, but if you can't, delete the folder and then delete all steam registry values)
3. reinstall steam
4. if steam started, close it
5. copy the steamapps folder back into the steam directory
6. start steam

if this doesn't work, the problem's with your computer. you won't lose any of your maps or games if you do this.

I thought somebody more experienced could not neccesary offer me a solution , but at least explain me in depth what's the actual problem .
Somebody like penguinboy , he's talented at coding and that stuff.
The actual problem could also be coming if you are using Vista. Vista dropped a lot of OpenGL functionality because Microsoft are bitches and want the entire 3D market to use DirectX. It seems that AMD are following their lead, and also being bitches - but Nvidia is not.

Here are your options:

Get XP (if you haven't got it already)
Buy an Nvidia card.

Too bad if you don't like either of these options. You might also like to try VMWare or whatever it is, and run a virtual copy of XP in Vista, and then try running hammer in that virtual XP.

Other than that I can't help you, because you didn't take my advice in the first place to buy an Nvidia card. Next time, listen to the people that you think are "more experienced".

Sony are desperate, because they're failing hard with the PS3. Not even a lame Second Life clone will save them.

I can't see the appeal of these "3D chat" things. Either play a real MMO (where you do things besides talk) or join an IRC channel.

if your entry is in mod format, the judges will copy over the steam DLLs into your dll directory before testing it (to avoid custom code). if it doesn't work, it's your own fault.

I'm using chrome on my laptop because chrome is lightning fast in terms of startup time and the laptop sucks so it needs as much speed as possible.

But for my regular use I can't go without my firefox extensions like gmail notifier, html validator, fireftp, flashblock, stumbleupon, etc etc.

I'll keep using it every now and then tho, if user supported plugins are introduced, as well as a couple of settings options, i'll change for sure.

someone mentioned firefox extension support. i wonder how hard that'd be, given that firefox is open source, and this is google we're talking about. they could probably whip up some sort of virtual machine that loads firefox plugins.
