I meant to say a slightly '60s influenced room in Black Mesa. I'm still working on it.

So what you're saying is that any of these would make it:
  • Map 237 B.C Greece
  • Map 476 A.D France
  • Map Renaissance Venice
  • Map Victorian-era London
  • Map 1937 New York
I kinda imagined that differently.

Not necessarily it has to be the very first map he made. He's stating it is his first map for Half Life.

Looks pretty good, if a bit plain.

I really hope the arches under the bridge weren't made using carve. :P

Or if you want it to be armed, have a multimanager trigger an env_explosion where the grenade-train is, and either turn the grenade invisible with an env_render or return the train to its first path_track inside the machine.

Discovered on Skals's map a dream compo entry. On HL1, if you place a pushable on top of a vertically moving platform, all will be fine. But if you STAND on top of the pushable, you become an "obstruction" and the platform will stop moving until you're no longer obstruct the movement of the pushable.

Not the best glitch, I know.

I played it. But seeing the skills of some, it can be done a million times better.

Also, map a functional factory. Why not? :P

I'd have to think about it.

The last unusual happening when playing HL, and I wouldn't call it a glitch, is that I was next to a grunt that instead of shooting at me, kicked me in the groin. That's the only time I saw such a thing happening.

I'll try to remember actual glitches experienced.

I'm still waiting for a competition that syncs at least a bit with my free time. Mine starts in mid November :P

I like map from a base. Alternatively, I also like Skals's suggestion, although it has obvious limitations in terms of judging:
1. Map any location around the world. (rated on resemblance to the place and the difficulty of creating it)
I even know what I'd map, but how would the judges know it's accurate?

Ok, that's assuming they're not rich nor have plenty of time to travel around the world.

I'm seeing an issue here and it's that the light coming in through those windows doesn't appear to illuminate the floor under the volumetric light effect, making it look weird.

Well, yeah, that. Tell us how did you come up with your username.

In my case, it all started back when the internet was still a new thing and I had to create my very first email account. My name was taken so I tried to come up with something else that could (at least vaguely) be associated with me. I like The Simpsons, disco music, and my hair was longer at the time, so I didn't have to think much.

Now share your stories!
