While we're on this topic, I am making a funny prefab at the moment. A Giant toilet which u can go in the bown and swim up it into the tank at the back. It has yellow water in it aswell! And solid brown textured objects (poo)!

Well, I don't know much about nVidia as I am an ATI Radeon user. Get new drivers and muck about with your Direct3D settings. Get a little tool called nvMax. Just search it on google. I did have a GeForce 3 once but I didn't use it much and sold it. That had lots of problems in HL. If you went underwater, it all went blocky. Just get that tool I said and tweak about! :)

I have 20GB of RMFed maps in various stages of development. So if I do something wrong, I have something to go back to! Java, why the hell would they develop it in that?! C++, HEX or assembler are better! HEX and assembler are a bit confusing compared to C++ but they are very powerful languages in the right hands. I know C++ very well and know a litlle bit of Assembler and HEX.

The full compile normally takes about 1-2 hours on a medium map. The maximum one takes a much longer time. Timed on a 1.4GhZ Athlon t'Bird with 512mb of ram. It is much less on my new computer. But I don't use that for mapping! And also, the bloody hard disk is broken! :(

Erm, don't make the explosion size bigger than the maximum amount. I done that once and my map also had a "Fatal Error".

Damn straight! Don't use too man wads. And if you do, wadinclude them. This will make the mapsize huge but it should stop the errors! My maps only use 3 wads at the most!

I dont put in numericping or particles10000. I load them once I'm in the game if i need them.particles is good for finding leaks (which are nonexistant in my maps). Just use -dev -console and type in numericping and particles10000 when you need them! There are also more commands like that. For example, if you have a really laggy map, type r_speeds (or something like that, im not entirely sure cos I map for SP, not MP!) and it will show you the details and framerates and stuff. Oh, and also, when you have a leak, type in pointfile and particles10000 as that will lead you to the leak!

My method is the best cos you dont need to do another landmark. You just have to delete the old bit and do the next level! Much easier!

Ok, here is my quick guide to level changes:
Ok, you have your first level and second level right, now delete the trigger_changelevel and info_landmark! Put in a trigger_changelevel into the first level and set the landmark name to land1. Set the next map as what ever the next one is called! Now, here is the landmark bit. Put in a info_landmark inside the changelevel and name it land1. Now, thats your first bit done! Now, save the as what u want the first level to be called!
Now for the next level! With your first level saved and still opened in Hammer, delete the necassary amount of level so the second map doesnt have the rest of the first in. Just leave the changelevel and landmark where they are. Now, open the changelevel properties and set the next map to the name of the first map. After you have done this, just build the rest of the level and save this as whatever you want the second map to be called! Simple!
NOTE: You can substitute the landmark name for what ever you want!

Pheww, that was a long post! I really should start doing tutorials when I can think of a new idea! I go into enough detail! Hope this helped! It took me 10 minutes to write! :)

I am an expert on the HL engine and C++! Barney's health and damage is contained in hl.dll! Get the SDK and muck around with Barney.cpp and Barney.h. Compile the code and try it out. If it doesnt work, edit it again until it works. As for the egon 2nd fire, you will need to make a sprite, make a new animation and code the damage and animations and sprites AND sound setup in the C++ code for the weapon!
