You have to make the camera part of the train, and then trigger the train. I've not done this, but I think that's the way it works.

Not sure, but I know it's buggy in Half-Life. Sometimes when I set it from the console, it kills my sound. :(

Should note that the monstermaker will work fine and spawn as many monsters as you set it to, but only if the first spawned monster can 'see' the player.

in Monstermaker Post #96078
You don't have to give them a name if their all the same type, like mine were all monster_zombie, so I set the 'target monster' field to that. It worked, but only for one zombie.

I finally got it to work, but I had to create a scripted sequence for each monster I wanted the monstermaker to spawn. So, if I want 20 monsters to walk around the corner where the player is standing--out of their field of view--I have to make 20 scripted sequences and put them around the corner.

If some one knows how I can achieve this effect with the monstermaker and only one scripted sequence, please let me know. :P

in Triggering a Sound Once only Post #96077
The whole point is that if your .wav has any cue points, it will loop continously, regardless of the 'not toggled' flag.

in Triggering a Sound Once only Post #96001
K, just tested it.

If you put one cue point at the beginning, it will loop contiuously, no problem.

But, If you put the cue point someplace else, say in the middle of the track, it will play the entire thing first, then loop only from the cue to the end.

Halflife will ALWAYS loop a wav with a cue in it.

I don't think the target should be a path corner, but rather the train that follows the path corner.

If you don't want it to move, make the target an info_target.

Hope this helps.

in Robotics Post #95586
It's probably hitting another brush. Doors close/rotate teh opposite direction when they collide with something.
If your rotating robo object is indeed hitting something, you can start it 'inside' the brush it's hitting a little. In this way, anything the rotaing object is already 'inside' will not stop the impede the door whatsoever.

Hope this helps.

in Too many named lights.... Post #94931
I know little about lights, but a little more 'bout triggers. This may be related, or may not, but you might want to make sure you've 'triggered off' the preceeding light before 'triggering on' the next. Otherwise, they sometimes toggle each other somehow, and you'll find the sequence gets messed up--lights will be left off, instead of triggered on. Hope this helps somehow. :)

in Using music in your mods.... Post #94299
A Friend of mine made a little romantic comedy on 8mm for a class project, and he wanted to use 'Goodbye to you' by Scandal as the theme. For shits, he contacted the label and asked for permission to use the track in the film. Their answer was 'sure, but you'll need to pay us $3000.00.'

The moral of the story If you like a song, and it fits with your map, just use it. I seriously doubt they would ever find out.

Or If you want to stay on the level, just use IEMC's method to change the music a little bit, then your covered. Big Ad companies routinely do this--take some catchy, popular tune, change it like 15%, and presto!

It's not just IEMC, you seem to do this quite often. I only attack shits like you who spout negativity, intolerance, and generally distasteful remarks to others.

Calling someone a 'spamming retard who acts like a 3-year-old' somehow, doesn't sound like friendly banter to me.

Once again, please, grow up.
