Why does there have to be entire threads/journal posts, and soon to be news posts dedicated to it, is it really that special?

Why does there have to be an entire thread about Minecraft?

The thing with games like Fallout / The Elder Scrolls is the freedom element. Your character is unique in that you level up the skills you use most. I'm playing as an archer and sneaking around a lot and through continued practice I can now pretty much snipe anything and get a 1 hit kill.

There is also the crafting side of things. I'm currently wearing some leather armour which I have kept working on to the point where it is now tougher than some of the steel stuff I come across. The best part is, it is entirely my work. I killed a sabre-tooth tiger and skinned it's hide, I turned the hide to leather in the next village and then crafted some armour. Whenever I get a new hide, I reinforce it.

In other news, I am a huge nerd and I love it.

I would play it, but I haven't even played any other elder scrolls games.

...so?

Another great 1.8 island survival is the seed '10' where you start on a medium sized island with 2 trees, grass, and some sugar cane.

Died on the first night. Drowned while trying to evade a skeleton.

Wow. MC sure has a thing for making more powerful items make you look more and more stupid huh? Seriously. I hope at some point the Armour appearance is revamped. Otherwise I'm going to have to resort to waiting for painterly packs to be updated with every MC release.

I have to say though, if there is an area where NPCs can get through, it would make sense that the player would be able to as well...

I have to agree with Dragos. You should probably look for an alternative way to handle the situation because invisible walls that block the player should never be used ever. Kills all sense of place and immersion.

Still waiting on books having a purpose other than decoration. I'll bet that table has something to do with it.

Would be good to be able to write notes in books though, and place them for other players to read.

short of having a push entity (the name escapes me) pushing outwards. This will also push the npcs out the door but it will allow them to pass through while stopping the player.

How so?

Source comes with a massive library of models which you can use. Goldsource not so much. Guess us 'We Love 1998' mappers have to get really creative with our brushwork

I know that you shouldn't have an issue with complex geometry Dragos.

I'm a but dubious of ED-E appearing in Lonesome Road. When I had him as a companion in Vanilla New Vegas, his perk caused my game to lock up frequently. (Not an issue normally but in an open world game with few save points... yeah)

Try reading my post again. I was asking why people have so many icons. It looks cluttered and confusing when infact there are numerous ways to avoid such a thing.

I use my PC for web browsing, website design both personally and for work, gaming, level design, graphic design, basic 3D modelling and more and it's all accessable from my desktop which looks like this...

Oh, and I know you already apologised for your post via PM but quite frankly your attitude to other, older and more respected members of this forum is starting to fuck me right off. :rly:

I don't think there is anything wrong with those textures. If they make for fairly limited environments, then use them in a unique way to make the environment as interesting as they can be. Of course, more textures would be cool too.

Well, whenever Valve used it they simply removed the players weapons, not the HEV. I guess there was no need for it to be coded any other way as far as they were concerned.
