Fifty-seven is fine. I've got an Athlon 2400+ clocked up to about a 3300+ sorta level, air-cooled with a nice big and under-volted Zalman sink and the case open. Very rarely gets above sixty in general use, and for gaming, I don my surround headset and crank the fans up.

How about NTFS cluster sizes? How much of an effect do they have? I understand the theory behind them, and always tinker with them for different partitions, but is there really any point?

It's filtering. Use bigger textures, and scale them down in-game.

RAID is very old. Doesn't mean it's obsolete.
RAID0 is about double-performance, but, 'cos you have two drives involved, there's twice the chance of a failure. RAID1 is same-performance, but half the chance of data loss, because everything is written twice. Few people use that at home, though, I'd say. I'll be RAID0ing when I get my 2x300GBs soon.

:)) and it's, well, fucked. Always doing crazy stuff. I think I mis-installed the replacement cooler I slapped on it.

I'm fairly sure you should be able to crop MPEG-2 files without re-encoding them, but I don't know how.
