I'm not upgrading then. No way in hell I can afford the Adobe suite.

*anecdote of the day: I once actually called Adobe and tried to haggle. I even suggested they give me an older version for a lower price with no rights to tech support, but they refused. So I consider myself justified.

Next OS: Debian.
Note to self: Do not buy games on Steam that don't run on Linux.

There will be another installment with a descending theme coming up at any time now, sit tight while Urby polishes the details.

Too many entities on screen at once. Some more advanced users will be able to explain how to use hint brushes to fix that.

Is the info_target also moving? Because it might be that the camera is just leaving it behind. Cameras don't rotate unless they're looking at a moving target, I think.

I'm not sure how much it applies, but I'd guess it means you can't modify the prefabs, rather than not being able to use them. Otherwise it wouldn't make sense they were posted online as prefabs.

The string of Japanese levels right after your choice are particularly great.
I found those unpleasantly difficult, I never liked them. Especially the one where you have to ride in the back of a lorry behind some crates, the lorry always runs someone over due to stupid AI and you need to start over.

Normally the stairs slab would be the same thickness across all its length, and the height of the ceiling would be the same at any step. Of course, that's just the Architect in me talking and it doesn't need to matter in a game context.

I'm kind of becoming an arse regarding Architecture, right? Would anyone tell me if I am?

I think everyone intended it as constructive criticism, and it's absolutely unfair to change or remove someone's hard work.
Absolutely constructive criticism and with all due respect to his hard work, it would be not in the spirit of the project to just remove it. However, if it is so obscure that most (if not all) had to noclip to get past it, it definitely needs some sort of tuning so as to make it less unfair.

Or leave the door to the next level unlocked :P

By "bottom of the elevator shaft" they mean the floor of the vertical hole the elevator runs through.

Allow me to amend my incomplete review:

Liked:
  • Urby complimenting my fancy HEV suit.
  • 2mvg's big ass amp.
  • Tetsu0's tap water. I'll have to steal that.
  • Atom's keycard slots.
  • Strider's key hunt. Lots of attention to fine detail. Superbly crafted.
Personal favourite: Jessie's level. Boy was that good. Even if the architecture itself was just standard for GS. 11/10.

Disliked:
  • 2mvg's almost-invisible key. Also I didn't quite understand the progression of the level or how to press the button (or if that is even needed)
  • Atom's keycard hunt. Not heavily disliked but some were a bit too well hidden :P
  • Not auto-saving on each level.
Strongly disliked:
  • Malle's level. It's illogical enough that he had the need to add a hint system, but that is useless anyway. Malle, you're fired. 0/0. Yes, you. Box. Your stuff. Out the front door. Parking lot. Car. Goodbye.

That could be:

2- Lens flare
3- Dust on your sensor
4- A sombrero in the night

I've never even seen Saturn. The only two things I ever saw in the sky were the sun and the moon.
