www.planethalf-life.com/wadfather go to the new site its faster and do pick a sky that looks nice and download it put it in your half-life/valve/gfx/env folder and there u go to use it in a map make your sky using the sky texture and then go to map properties and put the name of your map in the environment map part
i dont understand why hollowing is a sin its alot quicker than making 6 separate brushes and u can ungroup it when its hollow and do whatever u could do with the 6 brushes u just made
if u put as the output file just a random name and save it where u keep your rmf files then open the map it creates and copy the brush and paste it in your map thats what i do
whats the shrinking box method i had to search for about a half hour for a leak yesterday and was so pissed by the time i found it i had to quit for the night
yes use normal for when ur working on it and use expert when u have completed your map so it looks nice and all that i think thats what kol is telling youj
ok... next question is my texture i downloaded is split up into about 6 different sides and directions do i have to worry aobut that or does it piece it together on its own?
If i wanted to get some medievil textures where should i look ? like big bricks and stuff cause it looks stoopid when u stretch the brick in the hl wad to make it look big

If sky boxes are a bad idea then what should i do when i have multiple buildings at different hights i cant just put a roof over it because there are places where its just a fence then void.... know what i mean?
i just finished environtment tutorial and when i load a map with the sky texture in it all the textures are messed up in console it says couldnt load trackerUI.dll anyone know what that means?
