To make it fair on people who can only attend one, maybe only the tickets from one of the events would count for people who attend both; whichever one they earned more in.
Or tickets for people who only attended one could count twice. Either way sounds interesting.

For a bestest time of the day, I'm going with any time on a weekend. If specifics are needed, I'd say from 15:00 Saturday all the way to 05:00 Monday.

I truly don't understand how at least half of your posts on this site are stubbornly telling people they're wrong about something you are even more wrong.

I however have much fun watching Jessie prove you are wrong every single time.

You collide with the func_ladder entity
I never really understood this. You collide with it yet it's invisible. It would make more sense to me if:
1) If solid, but visible, you could make the ladder-textured brush a func_ladder and be done with it.
2) Invisible and not solid, it could be like an area trigger where if you're in it, you climb up any vertical surfaces, like the ladder-textured brush you're standing in front of.

When I was just getting started in the world of mapping, I first assumed (1). Noticing it was invisible after compiling, I assumed (2), and immediately imagined all sorts of dynamic ladder contraptions involving func_doors moving into the right place.

Turns out it was neither. It would have been awesome to have movable ladders, though.

The above is only partially correct. It doesn't matter what colour the transparent parts are, only that the colour is the 255th in the colour table. Pure blue just happens to be used the most, but its RGB values don't matter.

The rest is good. The texture's name must start with { and the brush must be set to an entity whose render mode is solid and render amount is 255. Any entity will do, not just func_walls (any entity that has render mode/render amount values, to be precise). Func_wall tends to be the entity of choice for ladders, though.

Aren't these windows just solid, perhaps with a mildly light-emitting texture, but definitely non-transparent brushes?

That or you mean a different thing than what I understood.

I think it was built for C++ 6.x, but as it's been noted on other recent threads, any version will do. You just have to follow the instructions in the compile errors to fix some details and it'll run just fine.

The G3SG1 and the SCAR-20.

These are full auto sniper rifles. No need to pause and cock the bolt. Just aim and hold the trigger.
Oh those. I was thinking some sort of autoaim and couldn't figure out how would anyone use autoaim.

I most often play as myself, because the easiest decision path is my own. However, the first time I played Fallout 3, I thought I'd try something different and started to play as Cindy, a good hearted but slightly naive brunette. I even took the time to collect various outfits and fashionable accessories. It slowly died out back into my own personality as I grew increasingly lazy around coming up with decisions that were not undoubtedly by me.

That was my grand adventure at exploring characters that were not me.

I look at these screenshots and think everything is too shiny, too colourful, the colours are too saturated and it's so lifeless. It doesn't have the same quality at asset design as, say, Sim City 4.

The card logo is only marginally better. I still think there's too much going on in it. Maybe the compass needs to be a simpler, stylised version of one, and the welding gun looks like from a different logo to me. I'd probably go with stylised versions of both, they are too different otherwise (there's a lot of detail in the compass and very little in the welding gun). The spark also adds clutter.

I'd suggest you design an alternative, simpler logo.

I'm aware I sound like a total arse saying these things. But they're meant with the bestest friendliest intentions :)

The chair looks real nice, maybe a bit small though. Is it comfortable? Because the model sitting on it doesn't look like it is. :P

80lbs... without looking it up, some 35kg? It's a lot for mail :P

The website looks bland, generic and slightly disorganised to me. In a prefab way. It kind of looks like it's missing something, there's a lot of empty space around the logo that makes it look incomplete. The nav bar looks like it doesn't follow any rules, so "cart" and "checkout" are between "about" and "contact" and then "my account" is after that, etc. there is no grouping by purpose. And the fact that it's JUST slightly wider than my resolution and "shop" wraps around and falls alone in the next line is weird.

The logo by the way sucks. There's too much going on in it. It's like you tried to put everything in it and everything competes for attention. It definitely needs to be simpler.

Okay start, needs refinement.

One of my first proper incursions into the world of code were in QBasic. While such a thing is probably pretty outdated, I do believe that console-based software is pretty transparent for the very basics of programming, because you can focus on proper syntax, logic and control structures without yet worrying about the graphical part, which can be a bit confusing when you don't know anything. After you get the above right, moving on to a GUI-based platform like Visual Basic or C# should be the next step.

This is, of course, from my personal experience. Lots of people hate console-based programs because they're ugly and want to move on to the pretty stuff right away. Then fail miserably. :P
