What's your opinion on cheating in games?

Mine is this -

If you cant complete a game without cheats, kill yourself.

However, if you have already completed the game, then i suggest playing it again with cheats.. it can be funny.

I never cheat the first time, because that's just stupid.
But once I've completed the game, I like to cheat

Before when i was 10 i used to get bored at games when they got hard and then cheated my way trough them but now i play them all trough and then cheat i the hell out of them...

If you cheat without trying your hardest in the first place, then you should be shot.

I only cheat if the game is getting boring or the task is too great e.g. it takes me 100 goes. I even count!

There was this one game, can't remember but it pissed me off so much I threw my drink at the TV which fell off my table onto my cats tail...

I always play games on medium, then play again on hard. And only cheat after I have completed on Hard.

I just use cheats to mess around and find secrets and do different stuff.

Its no fun to beat a game with cheats. How then can you sit back and say "I'm good"?

Cheats are fun once you beat a game. Its always fun to go back and snark-attack some of the pre-disaster scientists

One time I had /notarget on and I killed all the friendly NPCs and left the aliens and marines alone

What do you all think of cheating on multiplayer?

I think its totally lame that people suck so badly that they need aimbots to help them. Take away their hacks and i bet 90% would get owned by the average player.

Multiplayer cheating?
It shows that the cheaters suck too much 2 play normally.. The average MP cheater is bout 10-9 yrs old
(although he'll say different )

Cheating against bots is funny. Friend and I spent ages on my iceworld in Source yesterday exploding bots with grenade cheats when they were on knives only. Highly amusing.

I used them on a hacking server against other hackers but thats more of who has the best h4x and not much to do with skill at all. Got old pretty fast. I even pirated some h4x, modified them and released them as my own.

Software piracy > Hacking

I joined a non cheating server but everyone was speed hacking as they call it, they zoomed everywhere really fast and it was impossible to shoot them!

I was playin on a CS:S server and this speed hacker joined. When asked why he cheated he replied 'I might as well cos i'm the best player here.' Which roughly translates to "! !z t3h 1337 H4x0rz"

When we flamed him enough he turned them off and we all kicked the shit out of him. Even the guys on his team capped his knees at the start of the round.

If you want to ruin an SP game by all means go ahead. If you want to try in in an MP game i'd consider using a different identity to save yourself the embarresment of forever being branded 'a useless script-kiddie wank flavoured cracker jack biscuit turd.'

I often play on my mates CS 1.6 server... My mate is a steam admin and its the funniest thing to watch noobeh hacker after hacker get his controls re-diffined so every key commits suicide

I cheat in GTA, it's the only way to have fun...

Cheating in SP, i only do that to discover secrets when i allready played the game (and finished it)
Cheating in MP, i don't do that, that's just lame

I don't have to use cheats in MP/SP , i'm the one and only : Teh 1337 n00b !
I mean counter-strike in this example, they allways call you a n00b, because they just are stupid and think that they have super skillz.... but in the mean while they get owned, then they get pissed (some have cheats then and say : Pfff, i was just coming in the game or something).
When they getting owned then, they change there name to (example) :
Deadman @ n00bmode or Yes-R @ Suckage.... (like there so good) and say : i have a bad day ! Then there going to cry and whine all the time ...

Next day the whiner comes again : I OWN YOU ALL (something) and suddenly he is really good, admin ???, BOEM BENG BAM, MUHAHHAHAHAHA, BAN
And he was so good ????

The one thing i love about cheaters in cs is when you get them so pissed off by killing them each round that they cant even get a kill anymore...

for single player cheating, i only cheat after i've completed the game, or if i'm just getting bored with it. we play games for enjoyment, and as long as i'm enjoying myself without cheats then i see no reason to use them. if the game starts to get boring, pulling out every weapon and invincibility helps liven things up.

multiplayer, i never cheat unless i'm in a small game with some friends (and never on games like half life, where i have to download/make the hacks), and even then, i usually end up screwing up somehow. take halo 2, for example. me and some buddies from CAD were just messing about with a few glitches.

*standbying is a method of cheating still rife in halo 2. the standbyer will do something with the cable on his router, or press the "standby" button, putting everyone else into the "connecting to game" screen. he is then free to run around the level doing whatever he wishes, be it killing people, or stealing the flag. during this time, everyone else will be oblivious to his actions till he reconnects and the game is updated. i've met a few standbyers before on the same team as me, and every time i've asked them why they say "all the cool kids do it..." that seems to be the universal reason for cheating on live.

Theres no such thing as a 1337 h4x0r. Just someone who got lucky and found a good hacking program. Or maybe theyre a good programer, but then they would be a 1337 programmer. The only way someone could be 1337 at hacking is if they could hack into some secret government database or something

What i wonder is how many people in cs are cheating and how many of them are just good. sometimes its hard for me to tell. if someone has perfect aim and they shoot in small bursts it can be hard to catch them in the act.

Spec them. If their aim jumps around between players or seems very jerky they may be using an aimbot. And if they run around wildly just shooting and actually hitting people then most likely they are hacking.

My opinion on cheating (single player games) is that you should welcome yourself to cheating after youbeat the game, if you get stuck....... ch....ch....cheat GAH!

As for online cheating, I hope they all die.

Cheats or no cheats, you really have to ask yourself if it is worth a ban on the Steam Servers...
I play Day of Defeat and the number of blatent cheaters has dropped in the last two weeks with the announcement of the new VAC.
It won't stop all the cheaters, but it goes a long way to frighten n00bs like me from trying them out.
It doesn't take a genius or 1337 haxOr to find cheats, just google...

Oh and Goat... the scope shake in Aimbot was fixed last year some time...'how would I know?' Easy, I googled.

MP cheats: Ruin good servers, but they can be funny sometimes--Guys nocliping ans speed knifing!

SP cheats: I use If it's taking me too long to figure out a puzzle, but mostly when there's an annoying, complex jumping sequence...

I've killed a speed-hacker that tried to knife us on de_inferno in the T spawn. I used a MP5-NAVY and got constant headshots when he came by.

I think my bro killed a speed-hacker using a USP.

Ahem, Rowly, there are no hacks that give you noclip.
That really annoys me, you kils someone with like 2 good shots and they are like

No it won't. If we're talking about CS:S here, some of the pistols take several shots to the front of the head ? without armour. The nape seems to be the best, that really pretty much is one-hit.

i only ever cheat after i complete the game
or if i cant do a mission and ive tried reely hard
i use the cheat for that mission and for the next
i turn them of again

No there is no such thing as a "power hack".

And a glock shot to the head only does about 40 damage. Though in 1.6 it is the only weapon that won't kill with a shot to the head.

wrong. in 1.6, the Tactical sidearm for CTs wont always kill with one shot to the head, and if your extremely lucky, and at a distance from the shooter, an M4A1 bullet can hit you in the head and leave you with 18hp.

Normally i don't cheat until i have finished the game at least once (often this is only because i don't know the cheats):) . but the problem is that i suck at games.:zonked: Cheating for fun is good, cheating for profit is bad. NB: unless we are talkin about gambling.
