In this case, I got two computers.
They are very alike.

Here are the computer details (if they got anything to do with the problem)
Computer A.

CPU - AMD.Athlon 2400
Graphic card - ATI 9800 SE
Sound - On the motherboard.
Mother board - ?
RAM - 1024 . 266 mhz

Computer B.

CPU - AMD.Bevton 3200
Graphic card - ATI X800
Sound - Creative Audigy
Motherboard - ASUS A7N8X-E
RAM - 1024 . 400 mhz

Now, I'm moving over Battlefield 2, from Computer B, to computer A.
So I simply instaled BF2 on computer A.
But when I was going to instal the expansion pack, BF2 special forces, and it was going to patch BF2 to V1.1, it said "the patch requiers 3000 MB free space"
I got 3000 mb free space on both C and D.
I then tried to download the 112 patch for BF2 and instal that one, but it gave me the same error.
I don't know if this could have anything to do with it but I also brought a new RAM memory today, and inserted it, and it might have caused any problems?
Anyways, if you know how I can fix this, please, help me!

Why the hell do you want to do that? You're going to suffer a serious performance drop.

If you, perhaps, got the labels the wrong way 'round, here's the explanation, from personal experience: free more space on the drive on which Windows has its Program Files directory. That patch is, well, shit, and as well as bafflingly demanding 3000MB of free space utterly unnecessarily (it uses about a hundred), doesn't actually demand 3000MB at all, but 3GiB (note the 'i'). This is 3(2^30) bytes. Just keep freeing up space if you can, or look up how to change the Program Files location.

I know it's lame, but the other computer (computer B) isn't mine, it's my fathers.
And he don't want me to play BF2 on his comuter be cause it takes up loads of space.
So he gave me the RAM memory in present so I could instal it on my computer instead.
Of course it runs better on Computer B, but I still can't run it on that computer. :P

One peice of detail I forgot was that the 112 patch worked on computer B, but I've never tested to instal Special forces on Computer B, so I don't know, maybe there is something wrong with that DVD?

Anyway, I think I'll do a mayor cleanup on the C drive. (I'll clean it, and re-instal windows)
And then I'll try again.
If this doesn't work, I guess I'll have to keep it on my fathers computer, and I got a good reason to, ;).
You got 2 pretty heavy built PC's there Lucky basterd.
Yeah.
But here's a weird thing.
BF2 works great on comoputer B, but none of the computers can run BF 1942 or Vietnam.
I bet they both are very badly coded.
But hell, what do I know about stuff like that? XD

Is the HD almost full? BF2 as with all other high performance games require a certain amount of space on the HD to use as a SWAP file for game performance. Is your HD almost full? If not, it could be in need of defragmenting. THat would probably work after defrag....maybe. Let it run all night, then BAM you wake up to the sounds of "ENEMY APC" and "HOSTILES ON THE GROUND!"

it could be in need of defragmenting
lol, true.
I haven't drfragged it for a year!

I'll try that, thanks for reminding me. ;)

heh dad, what you mean... of course an ATI Radeon 9200 is better than an X600, you see the number 9200 is bigger than 600! :P

Luckily my dad just plays freecell..

Actually, that isn't a joke, the only thing he can really do is freecell, hes played for 'bout 10 years, started on our win95, at game #1. now hes on 8000... lame or what!!! anyway, of topic but i thought you guyz wod enjoy a laugh!!!

Tell him to stop crying about it and just swap because your game needs more power, I'm sure his racing games don't need that much power, Or buy him a new HDD (BIG!) and say now you have enough space.

Lol, freecell. :P

Anyways, the X800 is a little bit better.
Maybe a lot, I'm not sure, I just know that it is better.

I got a 9200 SE at the moment, But it clashes with the old CPU giving me Graphical problems, The X800 is alot better. I'd say save up some money and upgrade (Ignore what I said before). But anyway good luck with it and all. Hope you get it working, I might see you on if you do (Getting it shortly after I get the new computer).
