With Half-Life 2 near a month away from release, I think Atom should add new Half-Life 2 sections to the website. Map Vault, Tutorials, entity guides, everything, while keeping all the old HL things here. Most of us will probably buy HL2 when it comes out, and will probably start mapping with it. However I don't think HL1 will be forgotten forever.

uumm, i would count on november-december for release, they said deliver! to vivendi, so they cant sell it a day later, it first need to be copied and shipped over the world. and i think they will get at least 2 months delay

I hope this site stays the same - if i had my way i'd get rid of all CS too - but that's just me :P

I heard August!
HomeLAN - Finally, we have to ask; how is Half-Life 2 coming along?

Gabe Newell - Good. It's in great shape. We anticipate delivering it to Vivendi in August.

It's not like valve never lied to us before...

Exactly - so they won't want to fall foul of us again and lose the credibility they have left.

Atom has already voiced his opinion on this subject.
If I remember correctly, the idea is to support HL2 and see if it warrants a new or seperate site.

Either way, I have said before... and will say again, I am not moving over to HL2 editing in the near future and will continue to support all work/mods/questions with HL1. The main reason for this is my distinct lack of a computer capable of running the new game...
At the momentI have trouble getting stuff to render in Software... :

I am gonna get Hl2 the day it comes out. I will also start on Isotope as soon as I get my hands on the SDK. Shame Andy won't be able to play it until he upgrades :(

I have a 933 megahertz processor with 256mb of memory. My vidio card is fine. Should I upgrade my processor or my memory?

I'm guessing you've got SDRAM. I know you don't wanna hear this, but you're not really gonna be able to play it without a much faster CPU, which means a new motherboard (almost definitely) and new RAM. While the minimum specs are fairly low, I doubt it'd even look as good as HL1 on those.

what about a new forum thing about HL2? I think his site should be modeled after Svencoop.com's forums. Then it would be organized.

When the game is actually released, we can have a hl2 section - no point having it before.
Is the release date still 'summer 2004'?

No. He said it should be passed to the publishers then.

i thik hl2 deserves section here on TWHL.
I has been told that mapping will be 90% same as in HL1, so why separate 2 almost same things...
Posted 20 years ago2004-06-24 16:26:42 UTC Post #36096
and i think other games should be addded. Like in the map vault symbols next to the names and the entity info.
