i find the head looking pretty creapy myself
Posted 20 years ago2004-06-24 06:46:45 UTC Post #35959
His legs are alittle wierd..? Looks like he's wearing pirate pants :P
Posted 20 years ago2004-06-24 07:14:12 UTC Post #35961
yeah, il change that
Posted 20 years ago2004-06-24 12:45:25 UTC Post #36011
lol pirate pants

Maybe that's his nickname?

...Anyway, yea I like how that is coming along. Is it worth doing the detatchable limb system? So you could blow the head off one if you're lucky? It doesn't have to be necessary, but I mean what better way to destroy a zombie quickly ;)

Also, who's going to skin the model pepper?
Posted 20 years ago2004-06-24 13:13:37 UTC Post #36020
im going to skin the model.
and that head blwoing off stuff, you know what your asking me??? i would make 10 special animatiosn for it wich will be random triggered if you hit the head. and someone need to code it. damn, thats gonna ask for more then 10 models, probably 11......omg..

oh, and here is a color screenshot. yellow is skin
http://www.xs4all.nl/~dewitnel/peppersplanet/colorzombie.jpg
the groups might need some tweakin.

now im heading to the uvmapping, wish me luck :D
Posted 20 years ago2004-06-24 13:24:29 UTC Post #36025
forgot to tell, those black things you see arent backfaces but the model wich is a little bit big. i need to scale it down
Posted 20 years ago2004-06-24 13:25:16 UTC Post #36026
Cool, I like the stance and posture. Very zombie-like. Try to make it walk (shuffle along) really slowly with it's head leaning to the side. That way it'll be like the zombies in Zombie Flesh Eaters.

Hey, it was just an idea man

:D

P.s, Modelling, I dont even know how you people can understand that stuff - I once owned (hehe-owned) StudioMax, and it had so many buttons and stuff that I gave it up instantly - far too complicated if you ask me, well unlike hammer
Posted 20 years ago2004-06-24 13:51:54 UTC Post #36029
i lvoe all those little tiny cute buttons wich can blow up your computer.
well, i use cinema4d wich has a very user friendly interface
Posted 20 years ago2004-06-24 14:01:41 UTC Post #36033
Hmm, well maybe one day I will, but not for a while
Posted 20 years ago2004-06-24 14:42:55 UTC Post #36044

Posted 20 years ago2004-06-25 06:49:07 UTC Post #36243
If I could use any of those programs -- I would, but I can't, so I won't :
Posted 20 years ago2004-06-25 06:55:43 UTC Post #36244
I USE MILKSHAPE CINEMA4D AND 3DSTUDIOMAX 6, I PREFER CINEMA 4D
Posted 20 years ago2004-06-25 06:58:23 UTC Post #36245
Do you know blender?
This is what use.
It's completely free like the GIMP.
Posted 20 years ago2004-06-25 07:29:06 UTC Post #36257
yeah, i dont really like it
Posted 20 years ago2004-06-25 07:38:15 UTC Post #36261
I wish 3D modelling was a just that bit more user-friendly :
Posted 20 years ago2004-06-25 08:42:38 UTC Post #36270
it aint that hard, the only thing is you got to think wile making it :D
Posted 20 years ago2004-06-25 14:19:03 UTC Post #36343
...and that's the hardest part about it ;)
Posted 20 years ago2004-06-25 17:39:37 UTC Post #36399
lol, i just made a panzerfaust in 20 minutes textured and all in milkshape its a mod for the ghost recon mod: war of infamy, WWIi offcourse, il model tommrow a kubelwagen for it and then i hope i got the uvmapping under control
Posted 20 years ago2004-06-26 07:07:37 UTC Post #36508
You use milkshape for modelling?
I've tried it once and it sux like hell.
This is probably the most uncomfortable modelling program you can buy for money.
If it hadn't all those file convertion features I would have deleted it long ago.
Posted 20 years ago2004-06-26 07:12:46 UTC Post #36513
erm, most experienced modelers started wiht milkshape, and it is very easy to use. the problem wiht people is that they dont read the tutorials right, if it says makes faces counter-clockwise you should do that. and not the otherway. it will prevent backfaces.

but for most of my modeling i use cinema4d
Posted 20 years ago2004-06-26 07:17:25 UTC Post #36515
What I don't like about milkshape is the interface. It tries to be like 3Dsmax, but it fails. You cannot do anything with the keyboard. You have click around 10 times before you can do some simple extrusion.
I prefer blender, it's very easy to control once you learned it and it's for free and has a very good renderer.
Posted 20 years ago2004-06-26 08:07:03 UTC Post #36526
I once used milkshape 3D, and the only thing I could do was import a skeleton -- I didn't know what to do after that
Posted 20 years ago2004-06-26 08:12:46 UTC Post #36531
i tried making a swan man in ms3d. didnt finish it :(
Posted 20 years ago2004-06-26 09:15:07 UTC Post #36585
bleh, noobs(soory, jsut wnat to say that)

i put the zombie on a back fire for a few moments, until im better in uvmapping, for that im gonna make a shotgun for the mod. its a mossberg 500. wiht costum animations.

tell me if you want any other specific weapon jazhel. im wasting my time wiht typing now so excuse me ,i got to model
Posted 20 years ago2004-06-26 09:18:20 UTC Post #36588
I think we need some really weird weapons.
Like the ones in 'From Dusk till Dawn'.

Posted 20 years ago2004-06-26 12:02:51 UTC Post #36623
i just spent the last hour grouping each part of the model(mossberg500) and making sure it was grouped right :zonked:. now the uvmappign should be easy

Posted 20 years ago2004-06-26 13:36:07 UTC Post #36638
maby, but i personaly think i make it wiht new animations, maby a double one wiht some cool flip while reloading
Posted 20 years ago2004-06-26 15:39:49 UTC Post #36650
Yeah, old fashioned shotguns rock!
The trigger still looks a bit chiseled.
Maybe making the barrel a bit thicker could make the weapon appear more powerfull.
Posted 20 years ago2004-06-26 16:52:20 UTC Post #36665
yeah, well i was thinking of holding 2 of those bastards in your hands and raging around shooting zombies
Posted 20 years ago2004-06-26 17:59:18 UTC Post #36694
Wheeeee!
Sounds like Serious Sam style.
Hordes of zombies and loads of ammo. 'Hm what could we do with that?'
Though it's not so horror anymore.
Posted 20 years ago2004-06-26 18:10:56 UTC Post #36702
well, about the zombie amoun and ammo you got to aks jazhel. i just use my imagination to make some cool models
Posted 20 years ago2004-06-26 18:40:23 UTC Post #36716
Maybe we could include one scene like that.
Everywhere else the ammo must be very rare.
Jahzel, what d'you think?
Posted 20 years ago2004-06-27 12:14:58 UTC Post #36870
i finaly maneged to unwrap a model in cinema4d and im texturing the shottie now. update soon
Posted 20 years ago2004-06-27 16:31:25 UTC Post #36955
so here is what oyu all have been waiting for. after 30 mintues of modeling. 1 hour of grouping 1 hour of ivmapping and 2 hours of texturing, i textured it. now all that is left is animating. obviously il make a standard shotgun replacement for jazhel so he can test it in game

PEPPER! You mentioned double shotguns with flip animation, you mean like terminator style or Cajj style (see "dual shotguns model" thread if you dont understand Cajj) Dude, if your going to put in sweet pump animations, gotta be Cajj style man.
