Yes. What is the file called? If the file was davideo59.wad, and your webhost was trapt ( ;) ) you make some text, Download Here, and hyperlink it to your webhost and the filename.

For Example, mine would be www.dhost.info/trapt/abandonedtextures.zip . It really depends what your webhost is.

Just a comment on your site, A play button is really unnecessary for a website, maybe you should rethink that.

House Everyone doing?

Back now - Seen what you've been up to lately, and I am mighty impressed. I will be using some of the new textures, and hopefully be working on some new stuff with in the next few days and so.

Erm, also I've been playing they hunger and watching some zombie flicks for ideas. I also watched this film called 'The Hole', which gave me inspiration for some type of sealed-off nuclear bunker under a ruined corporate building. It'll be really dark and stuff, really f*cking eerie.

I'm doing well....working on more textures....but I still have to waddify mine and make the dimensions correct, and I put a new pack up at my site if you haven't seen it already...I really like how some of the crete and carpet textures look. Might look good in that ruined corporate building ;) .

I'm also a bit lax on the mapping side, so I'll goof with my textures and stuff in a map and see if I can get anything that you might be interested in using ;) .

As for textures, alot of the max payne textures are pretty decent. You can get a complete set of them down at the official action half-life website, as far as I know. I already have about 16 max payne textures, but I need better ones.

I think its staying on HL1, from what I can tell. I wouldn't be the one to ask though.

Yeah. Most of them, like pepper, wanted to stick with HL1, although I have to say I still would like to see this pushed further to HL2.

I think we should keep all the HL1 discussions and start other sections to start catering for HL2. We're already a well-established community - we could become the top place for HL2 mapping if we get going :)

We havent established that much yet, infact we are in need of recruitement before we can even do much more. It seems foolish to shun away the possibilities HL2 will bring to us.

HL2 will make this mod so much more open and non-linear, and we shouldnt just throw that away because some people think it would be "too easy". i personally think the idea of the player sticking to one path wont work with this story.

Besides, when HL2 comes out, there will be a flood of mods, probably similar to this one, and it might get overlooked. If it's developed for HL1, then it has a better chance of being played by a wider audience (whoever cant run HL2/doesnt have it/still plays HL1)

Well you do not need to release it. Because of the size of this mod I do not think it will even be completed by the time half life 2 comes out.

exactly. hl2 is getting close, so theres no point making such a big project for half life when its sequel is on the horizon.

Your really ruining the chance that you might have. Yes yes, its a nice thought that people will still play hl when hl2 comes out, but the truth is that most people wont. And for a mapping community, thats outragous that people wouldn't take advantage of the new abilities HL2 mapping will offer. I think that we should make a poll for everyone who has been posting here. I myself say HL2 is the way to go

You know, Hammre will still be the editor and I believe VALVe has said that it should be easy to get HL1 maps into HL2, they just need to be run through new compile tools...new weapons and such would be harder though, but the maps could be converted over to HL2.

solution we make it for HL1 and update it to HL? when it comes out. and since that will take about a month that will give time for the crap mods to degenerate and disipear

OK I do not think there was any sort of debate in that solution. Everyone in this forum except for pepper and hazardous thinks it should be in hl2. And the last time I checked it was Jahzel's mod and it sounds like he has made the decision for what its going to be. Why the hell do you want it norm hl, when it can be 2x better than it is and make it hl2? "There will be a flood of mods for hl2 when it comes out" is a terrible excuse. And who said that its near finished? I completely disagree with that too based on these forum posts, no one has said ANYTHING about THE MOD for a while now. Besides, as I said b4, its Jahzel's mod and its his choice.

With HL2, making a good looking mod will be a no-brain job due to it's engine. With Hl1, making a good map/mod is more of a challenge due to the engine's limits and graphics ability. Which will not only make developing for it more fun, but will be more of an achievement. I say develop it for Hl1 and when it is finished, release it as hl1 and convert to hl2 and rerelease.

It's sad that the opinions desperse here, really.
I also want to see this on HL1.
HL? wont make it easier, it is not a silver bullet.
We all are very practiced in making things for HL1.
HL? will almost completely new to us all, it'll be hard to come to the same level in HL?.
Also there are many other groups that started working on their mods years ago.
HL? can make it look nicer and stuff, but this mod idea does not live on high definition textures and fancy shader effects.
This is 'A Horror Idea'.
And it can also be done on HL1.
I think many people would appreciate it to see another decent mod for their good old HL1, which we all went along with for more than five years now.

monster makes that only spawn when your near them kinda like They Hunger. anyways it probbably be best if we limited the city and made most of your time in creppy under ground tunnels. so Jahzel do you want me to e-mail you the nuke missle in its own RMF so you can use it in that bunker. it loooks fantasic.

na just food and weapons. what would people do with money in the city?

and we need to code in a rising and setting light spot that acts as a normal sun. theres got to be a way to have it make an ark above the map and have it alwayspointed at the middle of the map. that would make the gam funner becasue you could have the sun set every 15 minutes or so and stay down for 15 minutes. that would make the game funner.
