After aprox. 1100 km traveled by train in aprox. 23(that's a like, a medium of aprox 50 km/h :| ) total hours of travel, I'm exhausted, but I survived. I'm still alive.
Of course, not mentioning that I traveled in a class 2 sleeping wagon... which is not really bad but umm... there's not much to entertain with when it's night, you can't go to sleep earlier than 1 am because you're used to go to sleep late and the only things to play with are the lights, thermostat and the LEDs near your bed(of course, if it doesn't get annoying to everybody else :)) ).
It will surely pass a long a time until we'll have something comparable to TGVs...
The awesome part is that if you go on the main train transportation site, there's a big image saying something like "Be green, choose public transportation!". Ahem, and you surely encourage us to do so...

take yur computer, so we can see everything right after you take the pictures, you can be like, PICTURE, connect, UPLOAD, done. REPEAT.

Unfortunately I don't have a netbook, or laptop(which would anyway be too heavy to transport over such a distance), neither a wireless internet connection. Even if I had, I'd only have to rely on the netbook's battery, because the sockets in the wagon are, of course, not working(I tried charging my camera on the way back).

I would lose the will to live if I did that.

I'd probably lose it too if I lived in a better country...

500km? 11 hours? It's a bit too long for my likes. It would take about 6hs (or maybe even less) in Spain or France.

Yeah well, we're like... 50 years before those countries when it comes to technology and public transportation comfort.
You know what's awesome about this though?
If WW3 starts, we're like... 50 years before those countries.

When I travelled a little more than 1000km by train, it took 12 hours. It was boring, but if you have something to entertain you (a DS/PSP/Game Boy/laptop or a whole bunch of comic books) you survive.

Well, I bought a gaming magazine and a photography one, so I wasn't that bored anyway.

But skipping the travel problems, the city I visited- Iaşi - is just wonderful. I almost feel sorry that I don't live there. I also made about 230 photos, it will take me a couple of days to sort them and post the best on the internet :)).
Even though it has a big population, it at least gives the impression that it's not congested at all, but still gives you the feel of thriving life. I like how the building are placed. Most of the buildings are tall, "strong" buildings, but they're not very close so it gives the impression of open space. The parks are also beautiful, there also a lot of monuments, and I even had the chance to ride for free a bike. It was some kind of "green" organisation sponsored by a popular bank in our country. I also visited a botanical garden, the biggest one I've seen in my life yet. But I'll post more on my blog (perhaps not today) as soon as I can get some of the pictures online.

I haven't done a journal for a while, I've just been busy mapping and stuff. I'm much more active on deviantArt, Twitter, MySpace and GAMEployment, though, if you care.

I'm working a TF2 2 stage payload map, I plan to upload pics to myspace really soon as progress is coming along well.

Also, I'm considering opening free mapping commissions if anyone is interested. I think it's a good idea and allows me to direct my creativity towards individual ideas and create contraint for my environment. I also plan to build a portfolio now that I'm a Premium member of deviantArt. Anyway, if your interested in a commission, or just think it's a good idea, comment below, or go to my dA account where there is a poll on which engine people may want more.

Anyway, I'm back from Mauritius. A rather nice place, and also the first time I've been in the Southern Hemisphere for quite a few years. It's very similar to India, and some places in Africa. And while I was there I took a Scuba Diving course, so now I'm a certified Open Water diver.

On the Internet today, there are many people who call themselves web designers and web design companies. Some people do it for fun, as a hobby or part-time. Web designers that design full-time are the way to go.. Someone who does web design in their part-time tends not to take it as seriously as someone who does it for a living. There are also people who do web design, who have no formal training. Make sure your web designer has some formal training from a recognized school. People who are self taught, although I applaud them for doing it, have relied on the Internet for all their information, and as you know information on the Internet can be inaccurate.

Relevant Experience

The web design company you choose for your project should have relevant experience. If you would like them to design a e-commerce website, it is best to choose a web designer who has e-commerce websites in their portfolio. Your web design company should be ready to submit a proposal for your website project along with a contract. Beware of companies who don't give you a formal contract. The contract should outline exactly what the web designer will do and how long it will take, the price, and what you have agreed to supply. A formal contract is the best way to avoid disagreements between the web designer and you. Make sure your contract outlines every possible problem that can happen.

Different types of websites

There are different types of websites such as: static HTML (brochure type), e-commerce (with a shopping cart), database, Flash and a website with your own content management system. All of these must come into perspective when you are looking for a web design company. For example if you are looking for a fully interactive Flash website you better make sure that the web design company you choose has done many Flash websites. There is a difference between companies who can do Flash headers for a standard HTML site and web designers who can create a full flash website. Your best bet when choosing a web design company is to have a face to face meeting when discussing what it is you would like to have your website look like , also some sketches and some addresses of websites that you like. This gives the web design company the chance to fully understand what you are looking for and a better chance to give you an accurate proposal.

Things to take into consideration

Does the web design company have an update package? You must know that after your website has been created, from time to time you will require updates. Maybe they will be small maybe not. If the web design company you are choosing does not have an update package, you should inquire about the price of updates after the initial design. You should take the price of updates into consideration before you begin the design process. Make sure the web design company or web designer you choose sets realistic goals for the timeline. Usually if it sounds too good to be true then it is.

Many web designers have their own personal style. For example my personal style is clean and bright colors. Some web design companies love Flash and always build Flash websites. This would not be ideal if you are looking for an extremely search engine friendly website.

You would also have to consider guarantees. Does your potential web design company offer a guarantee? Most web design companies do not. So when you find one who does, you can know that they feel very confident in their capabilities. Another thing to consider is: Does the web design company display a phone number that they can be contacted at. Sometimes as a client you would like to speak with someone, not just get a reply to an e-mail the next day.

How to a find a web design company

There are a few ways to find web design companies in your area. One way is to search the web for: "Vancouver web design" or "Sarasota Web design", obviously depending on the city closest to you. You could also search the Yellow pages for web design companies. Most web design companies who can afford to advertise there have already built a pretty go reputation and have been in business for a while.
Another option is search the web and when you see a website you really like, check for a link on the bottom of the page or on a contact page.

Well, it's 1:30 am.

Tomorrow at 9 am I'll go on a trip of about 500 km by train :(. It will take about 11-12 hours. If it was Japan, it would probably only be about 1-2 hours. Oh well...

I'm visiting a cultural city, and I'm bringing the Nikon with me. Will probably take a lot of photos.

Good night, and see you in about 3 days again.

Just posted a video on Wireframe renders in Maya without using the traditional Vector Render.
This is an easy thing to do in 3DsMax, but this is how I do it in Maya.
So for anyone here learning Maya, this method is great for making demo reels and such.

ok, so on Der Reise its a solar eclipse, and the clocks stuck on 1:15 but the solar eclipse that happened that year, was on July 9th, at 1:30 or something, and it lasted for 1:15, but even still, the solar eclipse shouldn't have been visible in Breslau, which is where the maps at....

What does any CoD:5:Zombies players think about this?
Ive been looking into this crap for a few days now, and if your just going to flame me close this tab out.

I came across something interesting when I was looking at Black Messa source on it's wiki, It's about G-man. During the second part of the chapter "Interloper" Of hl1, You can hear the nihilanth saying [green]"You are man... he is not man... for you he waits... for you..."[/green]. Now on the BMS wiki site (here: http://wiki.blackmesasource.com/Nihilanth ) It says that the Nihilianth is possibly referring to G-man and his inhuman abilities!
Now G-man does meet Gordon at the very end of the game after Gordon defeats nihilianth, so can the inhuman part be true as well?
Furthermore;
Do you guys remember that one crystal Gordon inserted into the laser beam that caused the invasion? I read on the same site that it was somewhere stated in the game that the crystal was supplied to the Black messa facility by the very same G-man.

I don't know about you guys, but to me this looks like Valve is hinting us that G-man is perhaps some alien himself who planned out the entire invasion? and Gordon is just a stepping stone for him? He needed Gordon to kill off nihilanth, and now he's using Gordon for something else? Like getting rid of the combine which could be in his interests?

Well I already read most of a 200 pages manual, and I decided to make some slow motion footage.
Note that the camera sacrifices video quality for higher frame rates.

The video includes: a lighter, matches, pouring water, chopping a plum, hitting a peach. Perhaps in the future I'll film an entire box of matches catching fire :).

SlowMotion Footage

Also, here's my first picture ever with this camera(didn't read the manual and had no idea how different functions work, so I switched to Auto mode):

I'll probably post a gallery of photos in the future on my blog. Note that the image resolution was greatly decreased( and picture quality too). Original file size is too big for Image shack(around 2-3 mb).
