Since I kinda gave up on mapping, i'm spending more time into the HL1/HL2 gaming community itself. I recently played the new HL2 third-party made mod D.I.P.R.I.P; Die in Pain, Rest in Peace. It's a race-shooter game, much in the spirit of Twisted Metal. It looks and plays awesome. Sadly I got a bit of FPS problems. But that's the problem of my crappy computer..

On a other note, if you want me to review your map, give me a PM and i'll be happy to review it for you. I don't give away 5 stars easyly, so be warned if you do. :P I do not review CS/TF2/Portal maps.

I spent the weekend treating the GamingParents forum with a face-lift.

I crashed it a few times, but I managed to always get it back. Whew!

Finally got to dling the Audiosurf demo. It's definitely an awesome way to make listening to your kickass music even more immense & entertaining.

.. not even thinking of getting the full ver., though. My shopping list is stuffed with all kinds of cool random stuff and my wallet's as empty as the skull of your average gangsta rapper. D:

I will be entering the contest. I'll have to look over a few levels from some of my favorite games to see what's within my abilities. No doubt I'll run into problems as I typically do with contest maps.

Just got back to TF2 after 2 weeks of being MIA.

A little rusty, but came out on top after a few rounds.

Well thought I'd try the new journals D:

What's up in Habboi world? Well still at uni doing games design. It's kinda a mix though between story writing and media with the odd game making every now and then. At the moment we have to write a games design document for CW1 and then make a 2D game for CW2 using Director MX 2004. I hate programming : <

Erm you probs already know but I'm working on a single player mod and just taking my time on it. Second level is almost done architecture and lighting wise. I need to work on scripts sometime and sound ambience. Apart from that I have an essay to do...

Yesterday was my last day at my job. My notice ran up and I'm done. Which means I gain time, and a LOT of time. 35-40 extra hours so I can catch up on homework and... that other thing... it starts with a '6' and ends with 'D' ..............

I'm too soon to jump the gun:

1. Reviewing games sucks.
2. The Sims 2 gets old pretty fast.

Back to TF2 I say.

I think I'm gonna start doing game reviews, it's fun.

Anyways: The Sims 2

Urbanebula's recent revival of The Sims house of TWHLers inspired me to pick up The Sims 2. I know I know, I'm 4 years too late, but these games just never get old.

It's all the same concept as the original Sims, except they've thrown in a bunch of awesome improvements. There's nothing really big except your "aspirations", or whatever they're called, and that you do things day to day to gain points, earning you special items.

Not just that, little things like putting stuff in the oven and forgetting about it can catch your house on fire, or that you can actually walk around the house with a phone. All great stuff.

I could go on and on with a bunch of little stuff, but I'll leave that to you. I suggest you go pick up a copy if you loved the original game.
