More 3D time!

A new project, a tunnel animation, google it, there usually rather boring but the loop thingy is a interesting concept.

So, i made a a short story and based the animation around that. So far i got the locomotive from the beginning, it will be a TRAXX 140. Here is what i got so far:

Jeff, that would crash HL into oblivion ^_^.

It's going to be a long summer for me since I'll be learning everything to do with modelling in order to get ahead of my university.

Nice train, mate.

You cant really learn everything in one summer, just get the basics down and learn the rest on the job, specific tasks require a certain knowledge you cant really prepare for. Manuals are there with a reason.

Will do although when I say summer, I really mean half a year since University is so generous.

It would be possible to port it, but it would take forever, mabye even months perhaps :S

Plus, it's not even done, it's probably going to have hella more polys when it's done.

Yoda, not much porting really, SMD export, compile and crash Half-Life! And yes it will receive more detail and a shiny paint coat.

'Jeff, that would crash HL into oblivion ^_^.' Not the entire thing with the animations, just the train and some track.

Jeff, with that i meant that i doubt the HL engine will be able to render such an amount of polygons.

Lol pepper, what makes you so sure.
Commented 14 years ago2009-05-17 17:01:15 UTC Comment #35156
Indeed. What makes you so sure? Your experience? Your.. skills? Nonsense, I say! Surely Goldsource can handle ~10k epolies in a single model! Tis' but a matter of wishing hard enough.

Nice Pepper, always a pleasure to see your modeling work...

Habboi: you inspire me to learn moar about modeling... i actually bought milkshape and acquired some other modeling tools...

Yoda, i reckon i know a bit about modelling for Half-Life, offcourse, feel free to prove me wrong. make a object with about 50.000 polygons and a couple texture maps and see if you can do it.

Cheers mister terror!

Daub, indeed! believe it can!

Captain: I'm glad I inspired you. That's two people I've inspired in one year! The other guy was some "blog randomer" who saw my Director MX game and said it was good.
