It's my Birthday today.
I had the party Friday-Saturday (yay long weekends!) So I get today all to myself. I got The Sims 3 from my parents and some cash from my buddies on Friday, and I just got Scribblenauts this morning.
Unfortunatley, It seems I need (at least) a new graphics card for the Sims 3 to work. Any suggestions?

Scribblenauts is an interesting idea but most of the reviews are correct that too much freedom can actually be a bad thing. That, and the controls are horrible. I didn't find it fun at all, but maybe it's just me.

As for a video card, you can't go wrong with the old 8800 series. If you want a newer model, try the GTX260 for good bang-for-your-buck. Nvidia, of course.

And, happy birthday!

happy burthdai!

Radeon own the mid-range at the moment if you don't want to splash out on a supercard.
I just got a HD 4870 with 1gb of DDR5 memory for around ?90.

Plays everything I've thrown at it (including Dragon Rising, Crysis and Fallout 3) on max and runs very quietly. Highly recommended.

I run an 8600GTS which you could probably get for about $160 USD now. It's a GREAT card and runs about anything I've thrown at it. If you have money though, I'd say newer is always better.

I agree with SAW. I have the same exact card and I've had ZERO problems with it. Oh and happy Vagina-Exiting anniversary.

PB: Scribblenauts is okay, though I do agree the controls could use work. Also, the exploding barrels explode much too easily.
"How old are you now?"

Also, thanks for the suggestions for cards, I'll look into them.

Jeff is reluctant to reveal his age.
I refuse to wish you a happy birthday without knowing how old you are.

Judging by a previous journal of his, he's high school age, now roughly 15-17, as if he were 18 he'd probably tell us.

Urb: I was looking forward to getting it (plus I doubt they'd get Fallout 3 for me if I asked) but the thing that hurts is the system requirements make the game crash if there's a video card mismatch.
Saw: Lol, okay, thanks.
