Adobe are great for the most part.

Except when they make your browser crash whenever you try to open a PDF file.

Opera never crashes when viewing PDFs

Opera crashes every time I open a PDF. And so does Firefox, IE, Safari and Chrome. It's Adobe Reader which causes it. I've even tried reinstalling it.

Also, they translated "Close Download Manager" to "N?ra nedladdningschef" ("Near Downloading Boss").

Thanks Tito, but I already have GSview. It doesn't have a browser plugin, so I just right click and download PDF files I find on the web and then open them with GSview. I just haven't bothered uninstalling Adobe Reader. I'm going to uninstall this operating system (XP Professional x64) soon, anyway.

Not sure why you have such bad luck with Adobe but they've been good to me all these years. The only thing I hated was installing Illustrator which takes so long you think it isn't working.

Just want make clear I don't hate Adobe or anything, I just don't like most of their products.

Hey, any body here remember from years back at Adobe's attempt at a virtual worlds modeling platform to compete against VRML? It was called "Adobe Atmosphere". It consisted of 3 parts, which were the 3D world editor, the browser viewer plugin and the open source multi-user server. It lasted for about 2 or 3 years before Adobe gave up on it. Adobe's installers are well known to be the worst installers ever. The updater is worse.

Well, I think the one Adobe product that's the most over-bloated with obscure tools that most people will not likely use, is Photoshop. I still use Photoshop 7, it's all I need. And now with the so called "CS4 Extended" version with it's "tools for editing 3D models and motion-based content", it apparently seems it wont be long before some future version of Photoshop goes head on with 3D Max or Maya.

Has anyone noticed that Tito's posts seem to be worded as if he was a salesman?

Use adobe products at home and at work. Never had any issues.

@ ATDestroy: No, I am not getting paid, but I wish I was though. And I'm sure you would to. I guess what's happening to me, is that since I am a part time freelance ecommerce web developer, I find myself often writing promotion and sales content for the websites that I do for my paying clients. Some of my clients tell me exactly what they want on their websites to say, while the others expect me to come up with the "sales pitch content" for them, since they are too dumb to do it themselves. Of course, If I have to come up with the sales pitch content myself, I will charge them extra for it. So in retrospect, I guess I will need to make sure to not make my future posts sound to accidentally "promotional". Thanks for bringing this up, I guess I needed a wake up call, ATDestroy.

For a change here, Adobe Reader doesn't crash my Firefox. It just makes it terribly unresponsive while it loads, then only downloads pdf's by half, then freezing when I scroll to a page that hasn't downloaded. After that, I have to manually kill its process as well as the Adobe Auto Updater's - which can't be disabled.

As for Photoshop, I'm with Tito. There haven't been any significant additions in quite a while (other than bugfixes I suppose). I once downloaded "normal" Photoshop AND Photoshop Extended and I haven't been able to see a difference (besides price? I didn't pay for either anyway).

But back to Brendanmint's original post: Just download some keygen if they don't give a useful reply. You already paid for that crap.

Be careful with those keygens,....some of them have trojans. Make sure you have your anti-virus program is active and on real-time scan mode.

Really?.....that would be something. But even if that turns out to be the case, a deal that big and important would need to be first scrutinized and eventually approved by the U.S. Department of Commerce anti-trust division, which is a very powerful overseeing body that regulates big businesses in the U.S. And if the Government says no, then there's no deal.

That would suck even more, i absolutely hate apple. And im quite sure none of you do.
