Dragos, that just makes it A LOT smaller. Still boxes, only does this with Cube Poly Meshes. every other mesh I make keeps the properties I set for it, I do have scale in the .qc set to 10.0 because That's what has been working.
EDIT: I made a test, a LONG rectangular box, and when I compile it, it was again a default box. Just 5X5 in grid size. Nothing online I can find is explaining this.

OOVERALLEDIT: Fuck this post. Anyways, Joe, I did that, didn't do shit, still a bunch of boxes. Seems when Softimage exports the .smd, Its a huge fucking box.

For anything goldsource you'll definitely want to be using milkshape, do not rely on third-party exporters, export it to a .obj or .3ds or anything that milkshape can import, import it and then adjust any bones or positioning that you may need to tweak.

It's not the .qc, that's fine, its the exporting the .smd that messes the cubes up and reverts them to their cubyness. I've already asked on the XSI tool community site, testing out some things they recommended.
EDIT: HAHA. YESH, NOT EVEN THIS PROGRAM CAN DEFY ME! But now I need to fix the button. Which is still being a turd. But, the cubes are fixed.
EDIT EDIT: But now the buttons being a dick. I fix one thing to have another break.

Your own forum fucked me over pb, I originally typed gold\source and it removed the backslash.
Like I said, use the actual tool that is supposed to be used for the job, don't rely on third party tools that allow you to "super easy export to half life smd!", export to a format milkshape can properly import and then do everything there, there is absolutely no difference between gold and source, you only compile the model using different tools, not composite.

unless max has a function like that, make sure to fix smoothing after.
