Last week I was complaining about how I couldn't get Mass Effect to work but eventually I did, however I still suffered from some major problems such as not being able to load my saves (which was quite a pain)
Today I beat the game, and I have to say that this was probably the best game I've played in a long time. It was awesome. The story was incredibly imaginative and the gameplay was very entertaining.
This is probably the first game that truely had me care about the characters. They were very memorable.
I'm buying Mass Effect 2 next week, and I'm guessing that will keep me entertained until they release Battlefield 3.

Anyway my story is that I was replaying ME1 before ME2 was due to be released but it took longer than I had planned because I wanted to do everything, meet every NPC so I could see the changes in 2. So ME2 arrived in the post and it was sitting on my desk looking at me and I played like I never played before.
I literally went through all the main planets in an hour or less. It was a blur. Anyway after seeing the credits and listening to the awesome song they used I immediately stuck ME2 disc in and when I started playing I was very surprised at how improved the visuals were. It's something you rarely see in games unless you play them on the same day and it left an impression on me forever.
Regardless while 2 greatly improved a lot of ME1, I can't help but hold 1 higher for introducing the universe and because I loved the snow planet with its calm music. You can set your captains room to play that in ME2 ;D

I let Ashley die because the bots really suck at aiming, and because she was a bit xenophobic (which annoys me). Granted I never used Kaiden that much, his abilities aside from shooting makes him a better choice.
ME2 is pretty damned good. The simplified inventory system alone makes it better.
Oh and I don't see what's so awesome about the Noveria theme Habboi. It's just the same phrase repeated over and over again at different piches?
I didn't care much for the music in ME, or at least I didn't think it was that special. However I did like the track which played in the prothean world which you visit before you go back to the Citadel in the end
If you read the comments in that vid I think the people have described it better than I.
