Just got pulled over for the first time ever at a police checkpoint. Yay!

Lots of people see them from a mile away and make a turn as soon as they can. Fools. I just laughed and pulled over. I don't have a problem with it, all my documentation is up to date and I have nothing to hide.

Most people don't avoid checkpoints.

One time these police guys saw us parking at this wrong spot and they tried to ticket us for it. We said we were picking up passengers. Then they ticketed us for the window tint.

Bottom line: going near police is looking for trouble

In the UK if the police officer doesn't show his badge to you, it is not necessary for you to listen to anything he says, that's why they always flash their badge.

A friends friend used this law to his advantage once, as a police officer pulled him over but didn't show his badge, he said you didn't show me your badge so you probably aren't even a real police officer, and he drove off. The police officer just stood there looking dazed.

I never had this "luck". And just about when I was thinking about this I saw a police team stopping cars for documentation verification. They didn't stop me, and I drive quite an old car. :D

I was pulled over once simply because I was driving an old car and it was 4am. Apparently that makes you a suspected car thief.

I was in school and one of the auxiliary staff was talking about how they were driving up to Glasgow early in the morning to go to the food market , police pulled him over , suspected he was drinking because of his aftershave , breathalised him ,got all his license details and then made him go to a police station in town to show one of the documents that you wouldn't even keep in your car. And the most important part , he said , was that they didn't even say "sorry to have wasted your time".

Bastards.

Soup Miner: Half the people I see do.

2much: You had it coming.

Urby: It wasn't the car or the time, it was your looks that made you a suspect ;)

And we can bribe the police with delicious maps so that they actually accept it!

In Australia we have police adverts that say "if you break the law, we'll catch you" and "you get smart, we get smarter"
of course, thats not allways true is it?
