I don't sleep. I'm sure I've mentioned this before. I usually get 4 hours sleep a night during the weekend, 6 or less during the week.

We have a 3 day weekend this week thanks to May day (No idea what the actual occasion is but an extra day off is aces in my book). Anyway, I decided last night to get an early night. Got about 10 hours sleep in total. Then I woke up.

"GUARGH!!! WHAT THE F-"

I had the worst migraine I've ever had in my life. If you've ever experienced waking up with a headache, you know it sucks. However, take that pain, times it by 3 and add severe nausea. Whoo. Long story short, everything I put in, including painkillers, came flying back out at high speed.

Basically lost a day of my three day weekend while I slept it off. Woke up around 8pm in the end. So I managed to eat something, stayed up with the wife until she went to bed at midnight. It is now 4:30AM and I have been working on The Core since then. Not tired at all now having slept most of the day.

Just thought I'd share. :D

Well, at least that nausea forced you to get some proper sleep in. Now you are all rested and well :)

Well, I don't understand how you manage to survive with so little sleep in an average week, but I'm glad you're feeling better.

I've had a bad weekend too after I took a hand of flaxseeds. They are toxic in high quantities, but normally a hand of them won't do any harm. So nausea set it and at a point a sudden strike of extreme pain went through my head.
Also if I sleep less than 7 hours I can't do anything that implies intellectual effort efficiently.
I'm surely intrigued by how you manage with so little sleep...

you should obviously be sleeping more, but the question is why are you sleeping so scarcely in the first place? insomnia? dicking about online? work?

If it's insomnia, i would definitley recommend adding some exercise in your routine somewhere, just 30 minutes of some good cardio at least and some simple low-impact muscle training (i personally like pushups/situps and simple yoga.

i find if i do this once or twice a day everyday, i feel, work, and SLEEP much better.

Striker: never knew that about flax seeds holy crap!

Yeah they contain some toxic compounds, according to wikipedia: "neurotoxic cyanogen glycosides and immunosuppressive cyclic nonapeptides".
I've read somewhere though that scientists have tested for these effects on humans with a 60g portion and nothing happend, so I suppose only on special occasions or if you consume a rather big portion of flaxseeds you'd get intoxicated.

I use them for the Omega-3 oil and as a natural laxative from time to time.

Ooo, just had a similar exp, had to work at 7 in the morning, so came home after and slept all day and then stayed up all night. Really through off my schedule. Didn't get sick though.

I'll usually get 4-6 hrs a few nights and then finally get 8-10 one night. People say you don't make up for lost sleep but my body sure as hell wants extra sleep after missing out on so much.

Occasionally I sleep upwards of 18 hours a day. I think the reason is I have an addiction to dreams or something. I seem to go through a cycle of having vivid dreams, then no dreams. The times when I have no dreams I don't sleep anywhere near that long.
