how old is your rig? with all the deals you might just be better off buying a whole new system, and then you can be super cool running to computers at once =)

OR buy a diesel gaming laptop instead like i'm also planning to do today, because you deserve it =)

My friend is building a gaming laptop out of desktop components and a custom case. I think it will be roughly the size of a small suitcase when it's finished.

well ive been upgrading the thing pretty much every 18-24 months. I have 8gig of ripjaws ram, and the last video card i bought was a radeon HD 6950

So i think if i get a new motherboard / processor it won't be the bottleneck anymore.

I have a laptop that plays games decently well. its been a champ

Acer Aspire with an i5 and a mobile HD 6600 series video card. can't remember the exacts... but its running like a boss and the only thing i might do is double the ram from 4 to 8gig

ya tetsu0 idk, you found any good deals yet? i'm not really finding crap for laptop deals...

my 4-year old laptop(core 2 duo 2.26 ghz, geforce 9800 gts) is also a champ, that still plays the latest games fine, just not on the highest settings. i'm guessing a modern gaming laptop would play anything on high settings no problem.

tjb: i've always wanted to do that too, use one of those cool stainless steel survivor briefcases =)

Cyber monday I got 16gb RAM for $50. Awesome. Next year I'm either going to get a MOBO/CPU combo or a MOBO/GPU combo pack. My MOBO is the weakest part of my rig, my cpu is a 3.0ghz phenom II and my gpu is a 560ti. Which do you think would be more bang for my buck? Replace the CPU or the GPU?
