When I was around dimbark's age, my computer got some problems and had to be formatted. The computer guy who did the formatting told me the problem was caused by the HL SDK I downloaded. He said it was a 'system developing kit' which screwed up the entire system. So I was a scared little kid who never touched the SDK ever again.

When I was younger I was told a half life mod was a virus, which is bullshit. I think it was Spirit.

I was just getting into mapping at the time, so I silently installed it back.

well when i was around Dimbarks age the home computer crashed and stuff and everyone blamed the Half Life mods i installed saying they bought viruses and i was never alowed to make half life maps or play hl mods for a long time.
Of course, it wasnt actually the mods, people just neeeded something to blame.

My computer just crashed and stuff. I think it was the Source SDK. I'm not allowed to persue my dreams of becoming a video game designer anymore. D'oh well, at least I have writing to fall back on.

When I was Dimbark's age, my computer tech people actually knew what they were talking about, and my stuff was never accused of being viruses or screwing up the system.
We did get a virus, but that was before I did any HL stuff or even used the internet much.

I just found out that a San Andreas mod that I downloaded contains a virus, it popped up as severe in MS SE. Luckily I never actually got round to even unzipping it after I downloaded it.

I got a virus or two on my very first computer. I didn't have internet access at the time, they came in a software disc that was bundled with the computer, in some of those sketchy free antivirus apps that were so prevalent in the 90s.

...perhaps now too.

When I was around Dimbarks age I was a little kid trying to map, getting picked on and brought down by all the old farts of TWHL :)
