I want to see an absolutely dramatic low point for the players in EP3... a rebirth of the portal storm that the rocket ship was supposed to have destroyed, player on an arctic cliff or such, big open almost plain environment, and the storm in the sky winding up, suddenly, a huge strike of something like lighting, causing destruction on a massive scale, followed by a few more, then numerous smaller ones at a higher rate, debris flying everywhere, ice lunging at you, and then... all is black... emerging from the rubble, weaponless... combine and such scourging the area...
That's what I want to see from the portal storms, enough to give us something of a magnificent understanding, but without showing us everything and keeping us through a whole few hours of storm sequence...
Just to see all the destruction and chaos that can be unleashed by a portal storm... that would be truly amazing...

I think it was pretty amazing.
But I imagine the original portal storms and 7 hour war were much more massive (as it never reached that stage in EP2) and therefore, there really wasn't too much to expect...

I'm generally in agreement with you, but didn't Gordon have to stand with the Vortigaunts to bring Alyx back alive in Episode 2? This suggests some sort of supernatural powers...I believe they mentioned the needed human assistance. And that's why Gordon was included. Something more so maybe transferring matching (human) life force from Gordon to Alyx.
Mine has blue lights on the front and side (as was noticeable in my pic). I also have a Chrome power supply and a very tidy inside of my case (not a lot of mess of wires or anything) so mine is pretty attractive to see inside of. =]

It may have just been a glitch that displayed an incorrect filesize. I've had that before actually. Moving things around or restarting usually fixes that...

yeah, i've tried modeling, uvmaps always gave me a shitload.
i must've missed something. i dont see where puzzle elements of portal come in to play. unless of course you mean the box triggers that opened that gate. which isn't unique to portal.
download it. it works better. but its 90mb so if ur interwebs are slow, dont bother.

Im sure he set a custom server, and let his computer stew in it somehow for 20 hours. I know first time I played TF2 I tested the maps and the characters out solo, and it added to my time stats...

I liked how Critical Acclaim by Avenged Sevenfold worked on that.
But yet still it's pretty addicting. I'm planning to buy it one day when I get other things out of the way. Otherwise I'll keep buying 5-15$ little things and keep running out of money like always. =]
