Hey, did you all know that the LHC originally was to be located in Texas? They actually started building it about 15 years or so, but never got passed the giant ring shaped hole they did under ground. Even to this day, that huge 4 Billion dollar underground hole is still there doing nothing, which by the way, if the LHC would have been built in Texas like it was supposed to, it would have been about 3 times bigger than the one now in Switzerland making history. Let this serve as a monument to the failure and interference of the Congress and it's politics that drove away this big scientific project. it will transform in a white dwarf , and we will die because of the low temperature .
Well by then, faster than light warp drives would have been invented and man would be spread out among the stars, but only if the warp drive thing happens.

You know, I was wondering what would happen if somebody were to be inside the Large Hadron Collider while operational. So I came up with this not so plausible theory:

Man gets bombarded by atomic lightning:

Man then starts to get de-molecule-rise:

Man is on it's way to become one with the universe:

But hold on, man apparently has turned in to some kind of freaky blue thing with god like powers:

Yea, I have been a lot on this Hadron Collider and what it promises to do for science. It is just mind boggling on the type of "cosmic questions" this experiment could answer, we all should be feeling lucky that this is happening in our life's time. Of course, there's always the potential for disaster, which in this case, the world gets sucked in from the inside by a man made black hole, but then again, this is what some people who fear the unknown are saying. Well, I guess we will just have to see what happens......

It's the IE7, IE6, and IE5 users that need to switch immediately.
I am sorry to say this, but this too is a big waist of time. Internet Explorer's 75% market share will still stay intact, regardless of any new browsers coming out. In fact, according to what I have been reading on some web dev blogs and forums of late, it's Firefox & Opera users who are the ones downloading the most Google's Chrome, since these are the groups of people who tend to favor the latest new things on the web, thus becoming the "early adapters" to new technology. What this means, is that any increase that comes in for Chrome's market share, will be at the expense more of Firefox's and Opera's market shares than of Internet Explorer's market share on a percentage basis.

Funny how you can complain about a browser that cuts corners, and then say you like IE.
I never did say that IE does not cut corners, in fact, all browsers do in some degree. It's just some do more than others. Of course, saying which one sucks more is like saying who is the most beautiful woman in the world, it's really in the eye of the beholder, it all comes down do whatever works for you personally. Man, I am getting a bad feeling for where this thread is already going.......

Hey, I heard a while back on the Sci-fi channel that the Constructicons are going to be in the second Transformers movie. Now, I want to know if they are going to be able to merge in to Devastator, like they did on the first cartoon series from back in the 1980's. If it was up to me, I will throw in the Dinobots, Grimlock was my favorite.

As part of its promo for the Transformers DVD (the boxes with the Bumblebee mask, the Optimus Prime mask, and the Transforming Megatron), Wal-Mart is offering special behind-the-scenes videos for Michael Bay's Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen!

The first video you'll see is behind-the-scenes footage of the first day of filming for the sequel at Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, and the second video there is ILM's look at creating the robots in the first film.

To access the content, just go here: http://instoresnow.walmart.com/enhancedrendercontent_ektid50686.aspx and use the access code "AllSpark62609" (without the quotes). The site says you can expect a new video every week! "Revenge of the Fallen" is opening in theaters on June 26, 2009

That's a very interesting way of putting things, The Hunter. Now, as for the Wii not being taken seriously, I am assuming you are talking about the so called "hard core gamers", right? Because with a proper research done, you will see that the Wii's installed base is bigger than the PS3's or Xbox360's combined. And as for IE7 not being an update, you might be right in some respects. Of course, that will change with the imminent full release of IE8, which is the real reason Google rushed Chrome's launch, it's not my word, look it up.

I just read a report on Yahoo concerning this whole Chrome deal, and it's a real eye opener. According to what I got from the report, the fact that Google is releasing their own browser, could very well be a retaliatory response against a certain feature Microsoft added to the new Internet Explorer version 8. I am sure some of you have already heard in the media that some of the new features being added to Internet Explorer 8 include more tools for web surfers to cloak their online preferences, creating a shield that could make it more difficult for Google and other marketing networks to figure out which ads are most likely to appeal to which individuals. This is very bad for Google's business model, since Internet Explorer is used by about 75 percent of web surfers. As far as I am concerned, this is just one more battle among the Titans for global, web domination.

I highly recommend you all read the full Yahoo story on this: http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080902/ap_on_hi_te/google_browser;_ylt=AkmFC5mXVMDeFj0jVz4W2Yqs0NUE

I wonder what would happen if they would run out of names.
Actually, that did happen once already, I think it was during the 2004 or 2005 hurricane season. If I remember correctly, they went on to use the national alphabetical call signs like this: Alpha, Bravo, Charley, Delta and so forth to name the storms.

Also, Hanna right now seems to be just about getting ready to be a full blown hurricane. As of 1:00 PM east coast time, it's right above Haiti and the Dominican Republic, and man, it looks freak'en huge, maybe even bigger than Gustav! Actually, supplying most of the help is the responsibility of the local governments, like the city, county and state. Also, the federal government's help has to be officially requested by the state.

I am usually not an alarmist, but seeing on what is about to happen to the southern U.S. in the next 48 hours, it can't be helped. New Orleans, lived there once for about 8 weeks around 10 years ago, very vibrant city with some of the best restaurants known to man. I feel sorry for what's about to happen to that city, considering that it's still recovering from Katrina's assault 3 years ago. Right now hurricane Gustav is a category 4, but by the time it gets to the Big Easy, it could be a deadly category 5. It does not look good.....

Mushrooms always make steak taste better, but onions? What are you doing to that perfectly good steak, man?!
Trust me on this one, World Crafter....Lots of fine restaurants will serve you your steak with onions or mushrooms or both. I myself worked for more than 3 years as a line cook in a upscale bar & grill and I can tell you this: If I ever put out a steak without the onions topping, I would have received the biggest bitching out ever by the restaurant's owner. If I did it a second time, I would have been fired on the spot, no warning given. For some people, steak and saut? onions is a religion, simple as that!

I agree with potatis_invalid, CamStudio is great at what it does and it is perhaps the best desktop video recorder in the freeware category. Now, I don't know how many of you already know this, but there is this other program called "Quick Media Converter", which is basically an universal audio and video converter that's also freeware. Quick Media Converter can convert from a bunch of different audio & video formats to and from, including some of the very latest formats. But one of the best features it has, is that it comes with CamStudio built in! So if you are planning to get CamStudio, it won't hurt to get the whole packaged deal by going with Quick Media Converter instead, after all, you still will be getting CamStudio. You can find Quick Media Converter here: http://www.cocoonsoftware.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=13&Itemid=106

Tito, calling you an idiot was a bit too much, sorry about that.
My point was that if everyone would have done their best to make websites that validate and follow the standards, it would be a lot easier developing websites today.
Apologies accepted. And if I did go overboard on anything myself, apologies offered. As for your point, that would be the case, but only if we all lived in an ideal world. As long as there are big money corporations elbowing each other for the biggest piece of the internet market, that ideal world will not happen.

There's just too much money and power at stake for the big guys to leave it at the hands of the people who want cooperation across the many diverse, technology platforms of the internet. There's always that someone who does not like to share and wants to control everything. That's why you will never see no web browser out there with full conformity to the established web development standards, it's not in their financial interests.

The companies behind these web browsers want to push their own idea or thing, which they obviously own and control, and try to make them the new web standard. They all have invested, financial interests that fit right along with their own agendas, which dose not necessarily include adherence to the current web standards.

Today's browsers must be made idiot proof, thanks to idiots (Microsoft, Tito, etc.) that don't follow the standards.
Wow, putting me along side the mighty Microsoft, I think you are overreacting, My bank account and salary is not up to Microsoft's standards.

Anyway, that part you said about, quote: "If it wasn't for people like you, there would be many more - and better - browsers today and it would also be a lot easier and faster to develop web sites" is way, way, way off the mark! Think about it....It's bad enough to worry about the few browsers out there now and each of their individual ways of rendering web pages, when coding HTML. Now, you want to add "many more and better browsers" to the mix? Do you actually believe any more new browsers wont bring with them more non-standard ways of rendering web pages? Something does not add up here.

And what's this thing about not following standards is indirectly causing computers to need more power? You know what, I am not even going there, my patience is getting thin. Really Potatis_invalid, this is starting to sound like it's being made up as you go. One more thing..........You were out of line with that "idiot" remark, I don't recall ever throwing insults at you, especially over something as dumb as this. The least you can do is return the favor.

For an example: I just tried to register myself on Snarkpit, and whenever I come to the part about entering the security code on the last text box, I get a "Did not match". So I try again, and again, and again and again and a few more times, and still I get a "Did not match"! What the hell!

There is no way I could have possibly gotten wrong the letters and numbers on that stupid security code picture about 15 times strait! There has to be something really wrong with their register form. And to make matters worst, I can't seem to find a way to contact their admin, who ever he is. I agree for the better part of ZombieLoffe's take on things. Note on Internet Explorer: The new IE version 8 is schedule to come out soon, or at least that's what I read a while back. Rumor has it that Microsoft is re-building the browser's parsing engine from the ground up, making it more universally compatible to not just the current standards, but the new emerging ones like HTML 5, which by the way, it's final specification draft has been already completed. I only heard this from a few of those I.T. industry blogs that I occasionally read, have not heard any thing official yet from Microsoft.

I am no English professor, far from it, but I think you need to work on your structuring of sentences. But I understand where you are coming from, it was a bit long, but sometimes one needs to make a point to an argument, long or not.
