quite a few games use havok physics now as its pretty easy to implement without writing your own physics code, hl2 does actually implement a well modded version of it though, with the clear difference being extra physical properties and not totally spassing up like it can in its unmodded form - e.g. oblivion

fully destructable environments make for great games, red faction for example, red faction 2 was EVEN BetrTer yes

its still nowhere near the jump that software 3d to hardware 3d was, how far can a physics processor go, modelling individual splinters of a box??

Looking at games like Crysis and UT2007 the graphics are damn near perfection right?
No.

Anyone can make a screenshot look amazing, when you actually play the game is when it matters, its like taking a photo of a place at a specific time from the perfect angle when conditions are perfect. It doesn't mean you'll get the same feeling you felt when you saw that limited view of reality that you will when you are actually there.

Physics does seem like a very different thing to a game than its overall graphics though, its still very gimmicky in its use in games and I dont really see how amazingly detailed physics would have affected any previous game that could have utilised it. I dont see the same effect that physics could have to make worthwhile compared to that of having a good graphics card in a game like oblivion. Even taking a game like BF2 fully destructible vehicles would hardly add to what is already a perfect game (choke splutter)

An onboard (combined with gfx card) solution is much more likely to work than a seperate card imo.

also, please, get the warranty from the manufacturer, you cannot fix any parts of it yourself and they'll screw you if you arent covered

I havent bought one since I got my 9300 last year, but it still seems that the centrino chipset is much better for mobility than anything AMD have created. Even though this pc is a desktop replacement its still portable in my extra large backpack, the main point is the high-cap battery can run it playing a film for around 2 1/2 hours. If you travel/use trains a lot I find my laptop essential, I dont really see the point in 'desktop replacements' that arent convenient enough to move between more than the rooms in your house, you might as well get a much higher specced desktop system or build one yourself.

As far as games with pedophilia and other such examples, those are moot because they would never make it into production so even expressing them as a potential line is sorta redundant.

Its entertainment, to each their own and if your children are affected by them you really shouldnt have let them play the bloody thing now. I dont really see a line, yes I would be extremely offended and angry at a game approaching something like murder of children, paedophilia or other extremely taboo subjects in society, but they will never be made or allowed to be publicly released.

The new 'right to die' bill, now i'm not proposing euthanasia here in the same way you can end your life in Sweden because you are old, this is bringing about the inevitable end of pallative care in the death of a patient, before it happens. This done to help the patient to not suffer whatever throes that will eventually cause their death, characterised of course by the sad passing of Diane Petty who lost her human rights case to die before her body suffocated her in what can only be imagined as an terrible suffering.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/health/4757063.stm
Doctors in the UK do not support the bill, would you allow someone in Diane Petty's case to die, or as suicide is a sin and a crime are you held by your religious or legal and moral beliefs?

and before Orpheus says anything, no I havent been euthanised personally, but please refrain from debating on debating or i'll beat you up
