It's not necessarily about what the belief is - it's more to do with how that belief can be used to manipulate and control the masses.I'll say. Look at terrorism - political leaders using religion as a tool to recruit warriors, even though the cause has very little to do with the religion. Pretty easy to spot. Not to say all religion is bad, but it is certainly influential.

Who cares? The point is they're forcing us to buy games we already own. Doesn't matter how much MORE they bundle in the package, it still mean we're paying for shit we already have, and it's ridiculous.

I'm hugely annoyed at this and it's really quite the asshole tactic by Valve. Forcing people to repay for the same thing is just ridiculous, and honestly, nothing I expected from Valve.
Sure, TF2+Portal+Ep2 might be released on steam - but I'm fairly certain that if it is, it'll be a later release than The box and more importantly, it's on steam. I just don't like buying virtual copies of games.
Unless they bring back The Black Box before release, I'm seriously gonna warez the games. There's no way in hell I am paying for games I own, no matter how low the price is. It's a matter of principle.
In any case, discuss.

"Only" $300? That's a fairly standard digital camera, and $300 isn't really cheap as far as those go.
You can't take images with proper lighting without a decent camera (that means NOT a $100 digital camera), no matter how big a resolution it uses.. Simple as that. I'd love an SLR camera.

no browser (not even IE6) has problems rendering paletted transparency with themAaa, nyaaah, close but no bisquit. IE6 has some problems with displaying normal and transparent PNGs correctly, believe it or not. Sometimes it messes up the colour of them quite badly. Gif is generally the safer (but way more unsexy) way to go.

Normal, cheap-ass digital cameras pretty much can't take decent photos in dark settings. They always come out looking like shit. With control over exposure time and aperture you can suit the camera to your needs. Believe it or not, autofocus isn't always the best focus

No. Backgrounds in HL1 can only be static pictures, read this tutorial for how to make that. With Steam, I don't think we can even add an animated logo, like in WON HL.
