No.

HL will only read .Wav files, unless you find a way to make the background music feature work for MIDIs or something...

Just convert your music to .Wav Format.

I believe there is a custom sound tutorial here with the exact specs...

(and an AMAZING Ambient_Generic tutorial for using the sounds)

That should work...

Find out if the Button is actually being triggered or not...

also, test the env_explosion with a normal trigger_once thingy...

I like to do each part seperatly, then put them together.

I like the "detailed" room idea...

although, it would be impossible to justify 1 room...

I suggest a map where the limitations are already in place...

no, not a "Texture, Light it, Play it" thingy... I mean you just lay a basic foundation, and we do something unique with it...

Or, some kind of Terrian one...

Where we have to make the best looking, fitting, terrain.

Could be desert, grassland, plains, hills, cliffs, mesas, etc...

HL was full of humour.

I'll never forget that first train ride...

"Do you have a friend or relative interested in becoming part of the Black Mesa Team? Immediate openings are now in the fields of... materials handelings and... low clearence security."

Yeah, Humour is great in a map...

Always good to have a clever sarcastic or cinical comment made by the loudspeaker...

I wouldn't rip anything...

TWHL is such a good source of information for newbies because of our HL entity Guide, and the step by step noob tutorials...

I think Howdy is just saying we need the same thing for source, even if there are tutorials out there...

It helps make TWHL a bigger, better, stronger resource for mappers, and helps out the mapping community as a whole.

A Great Thread! Wow!

Whoever told you to make this thread is a genious!

Hmm...

In order to have these things done, someone with a good level of source experience would have to invest a lot of their time...

After the disapearence of Andy, Im not sure who would do such a thing. I mean, he did write all the basic tutorials for HL1, and wrote the HL entity Guide...

Who's gonna step up to the plate?

well, I would work a little more on the basic concept of the story... as you said...

someone stole the moon?

is that some kind of inside joke?

besides that, its good...

You probably would have a problem with the:
"Different every time",
since it would take up a lot of space and time to have maps that someone probably will never play...

Linear games usually make it big, unless you download the maps automatically as you play, and discard old ones...

Good luck :)

You pretty much have a bunch of unwanted closed off areas that are not part of the main map.

Its usually a brush error.

It really won't effect your map at all though...
