I see nothing wrong with non-fundamental religion. Believe in what you like as long as it stimulates positive behaviour and lets you sleep calm thinking there's more to your existence than this life.

And fucking hell, Satchmo, great respect for what you did for that child. All in a day's work, eh? ;)

It's a too simple application for me, it hasn't cool features .. things like this.
That's kind of the point. Simple, quick and ergonomic. A single function executed as fast as possible for the users' benefit. That's what the app does and I really see no point in cramming it with features of questionable use.

DOWNLOAD

Being somewhat sick and tired of ImageShack thumbnail code (links to my.php), I wrote this really simple converter. What it does is take the direct link to any imageshack image and convert it to thumbnail BBcode with a direct link to the image.

The auto-copy & paste functions make things really, really fast, where getting the bbcode is a matter of simply pressing Ctrl+C.

Thanks to The Mighty Atom for pointing out various nitpicks in the interface.

Hopefully you'll find this little tool useful. Enjoy and make sure to report any bugs/problems. :)

in Changing turret rate of fire Post #264569
You're looking at the wrong function. Shoot() doesn't handle timing, it just fires a bullet and emits a sound (that 0.6 defines volume of the shot sound).

Haven't tested this, but I think the easiest/hackiest way to achieve what you need would be to change
pev->nextthink = gpGlobals->time + 0.1;
located at the top of
[blue]CBaseTurret::ActiveThink(void)[/blue]
in turret.cpp to
pev->nextthink = gpGlobals->time + 0.05;
or a smaller value. Nextthink defines how often ActiveThink is called, which handles shooting, targetting, etc.

in Earth Hour Post #264519
I don't really buy into global warming. It's all part of earth's 20,000 year cycle. It gets hot, then cold then hot again then cold blah blah blah.
It just so happens when we start to pay attention to the earth's temperature, we see this upward trend of C02 PPM, and everyone panics.
Agreed.
One hour without electricity, apart from a minute financial benefit for the consumer, sounds fairly pointless.

Also, nuclear power is indeed one of the best choices, yet its price/eco-friendly isn't always that good. If only someone were to think of a way to destroy/recycle/re-use the waste instead of storing it in extremely pricy underground waste vaults. Furthermore, poorer countries usually handle their radioactive waste far less efficiently/safely, which could be considered a threat to the environment. Constant aid from more developed nuclear countries is a must, which again costs quite a bit.

Plus older nuclear plants, which are both far unsafer and less efficient should be shut down and replaced with their modern counterparts (colossal investments needed; a fairly utopic idea for most poorer nuclear countries).
We've an old soviet-built 2-reactor (originally planned to have 4) nuclear power plant ourselves (her sister in Chernobyl passed away a while ago). The EU is rushing its shutdown, yet the final closing date is being regularly postponed. No surprise here, as the plant currently supplies 70% of the country with cheap electricity with leftovers to export and profit from. With its shutdown (scheduled in late 2009), the prices of electricity will increase five to ten times here, making it even tougher than it already is for your average citizen. I'm sure the situation's more-or-less the same on any poorer country, making old nuclear power technology quite hard to modernize.

However, these renewals shouldn't end up costing much more than huge wind/solar farms would, so guess I'm all up for top-notch nuclear technology in the end. Just put that cash to proper use.

EDIT:
Speaking of the environment, most NPPs also have as much an effect on the ecosystem as wind farms and such. For e.g the water used to cool them usually comes from natural lakes/rivers, creating a fairly big rise of temperature in the area and thus somewhat changing the local ecosystem.

Those zombie bariers sound like an interesting entity challenge. As far as I know, most mods out there make terrorists the zombie team. So in this case, I think a complex setup involving func_wall_toggle, trigger_multiple and game_team_master may actually work. I'll look into this. :>

.. er, seriously, you can't honestly expect anyone to help without telling them what the mod is about, what you have done already and what you want to be done.

If you have no media, at least give us a proper outline of the mod's story/gameplay and what you need done. Doubt that'd be enough to atract any decent coder though.

I always try going for 96-112 x 80 units for simple doors, 4 to 2-unit-thick railings, 144 to 176 for ceiling height and, depending on what I'm mapping, 16-48 for wall thickness.

The basic dimensions on most sites usually end up looking somewhat small for me, so I mostly add another 16-32 units to each, which looks pretty good.
