Is it even possible to use source 2006 for anything? I thought all the games [Which the mod would 'run off' of] moved to 2009 and would thus render any [2006 era] mod unplayable.

Also, one small thing that had always ripped my hair out for me, was rockstar's [interpretation of] lightbars.
God damn they're bad, rockstar has gone so far with their lighting engine, just to shunt it with the absolutely horrific excuse of emergency lighting. I mean, the headlights are spot on, the brake lights are great, every single light on every car looks absolutely great except for the bloody emergency lighting systems!

They even included LED lightbars! But you can't just stick a sprite on a LED lightbar that fades in and out, that's not even remotely close to how a lightbar works! Aaaaaargh.
User posted image
I mean seriously, the community for SAN ANDREAS made a functional LED lightbar, it wasn't pretty but it functioned exactly like a real lightbar, and APB had a great ELM system as well, too bad that game was butchered by greed.

Unrelated question for PB: Why is it that whenever you only post 1 '', it will be deleted, you always have to 'double up' the backslashes or they'll get deleted, this can cause comprehension problems and minor readability errors like with a compile log with paths like this.

I'm definitely assuming it's not anything at all to do with this specific forum software, but rather a general PHP or such error as I've had this problem on other forums as well, care to elaborate?

Sorry for off-topic, but I figured it'd make more sense to post here where the problem is most noticeable.

EDIT: Ironically, after editing my post it deleted the backslash.

Also, going back to something like the second page with Ant: I could not disagree with you more.
I've picked up GTA IV about a month ago or so, and I just cannot put it down. Bloody great game, I cannot see where you are coming from with the driving physics because while it may be a bit quirky at times, it definately is far superior to any other sandbox styled game I'd played [Burnout specifically, or the entire GTA series as a whole], the movement while slow if you want to walk, is jotted into three segments, so I really don't see how you can complain about being too slow or too fast. AI? I don't find the AI to be the best in the world, but man euphoria has worked it's magic, always fun to shove people around and watch them try to grab onto a wall or ledge to catch themselves, or having one grab the door handle of your car and then driving off, leaving them dangling until you smash them through a wall, and of course it's always fun to just randomly run into someone, knocking them right on their ass and then shoving them over the edge of a railing.

Can't post much for screenshots because the easycap is best for video and not still shots, but I do plan to get some more videos up sometime soon.

Previously I had payed no attention to the 'vintage camera' but upon further investigation [Read: Open battery cover] I'd learned it doesn't take some wierdass proprietary battery format like the Pentax and rather utilizes standard AA batteries.
I also took the film from the Pentax [Only about up to maybe the first or second frame was exposed so the rest of the film should be good] and loaded it into the Ricoh.

Time for some oldschool? Time for some oldschool.

Previously I had absolutely no knowledge how how to work film cameras but a simple once-over read of the manual and it's actually extremely simplistic. I think I can get used to this film stuff. Plus, [film] cameras and film are extremely cheap due to the massive outcome of digital, nobody cares about film anymore. :/

The lights definitely look too close to the wall [That should not create the blocky effect though], and maybe a little too close to the ceiling.
Difficult to say, move the light too far away from the wall you won't get the sameproper effect you're looking for.

Could this have anything at all to do with the texture being used?

you know fine well that modern games do it like that.
Modern games do it yes, but not all developers want to be like Valve and make beautiful small enclosed spaces, and would rather make large open spaces with enough detail to fill in, yet play above 2 fps.
User posted image
This is a 65000 polygon tree made using the 'detailed polygon leaf' technique. It looks really really pretty, but that tree takes more polygons then a pixar character. When you have more then one of these in a scene, wouldn't you think you could lose just some detail?

Then compare it to this tree:
User posted image
Wouldn't you say it still looks decent enough? And that's just the method being applied to a entire tree, not just the leaves.

Regardless of what many developers may 'prefer' or 'do', it doesn't matter, depending on what you're doing you should decide what's right. If you're going to have several and several counts of foliage onscreen, tone them down a little, otherwise if it's just ONE plant in the entire map, then by all means go batshit insane.

Is this the one you were referring to in a Journal?

And to add what I was going to add through a edit [Blocked], obviously there are vast exceptions, as with people not wanting pictures of themselves up or tagged, but we were specifically talking about people having embarrassing pictures which could have been avoided entirely, not just general pictures.

Yes, facebook could make it a hell of a lot easier for you to have photos taken down, but that's a feature for a hell of a lot of abuse.

So anyways, tl;dr:

If you want to go out with your friends and get wasted, don't get mad when pictures of you get leaked on the internet and you can't remove them. It would have been a good idea to not get wasted in the first place.
Don't get mad when you get rejected for a job after they find you you have a massive tattoo on your back that says "FAGGOTS SUCK [LITTERALLY]", you shouldn't have gotton the tattoo to begin with.
Don't get mad when your girlfriend dumps you because she found you already have another girlfriend. Perhaps you shouldn't have tried doing it to begin with?

And mostly of all, don't blame unremovability on one website when the entire internet follows the same system. Especially when the picture or video of you doing embarrassing shit, could have been avoided being leaked. How? You shouldn't have had your friend film you attempting to jump off a rooftop to begin with.

And that's how the entire internet works, not facebook.

I could post a video of some drunk dancing semi naked on youtube and the guy wouldn't be able to get it removed [Easily], because the person who uploads stuff has rights too and it's not just 'bend over really quickly because somebody said it violated their rights'

Whether or not somebody else took pictures or not is massively irrelevant. By logic here, you should be pissed that somebody snaps pictures of you at a crime scene where you brutally murdered 3 guys, and so therefore it would only be right if those pictures just vanished into thin air. Should have just, not done it to begin with?

No, but I don't post pictures of myself naked on the internet and then get shocked when it shows up on 4chan, and thousands of people have seen it, then get mad and try and sue imageshack [Or whoever] for not removing it, when perhaps, I shouldn't have posted it to begin with. NAAAH.
I'd be pissed if someone posting pictures of me looking stupid while being drunk.
I'd also be pissed if a shop manager sued me after I got caught breaking his windows. You know what I'm saying?

Even though it's been stated in plain english how many times you still manage to ignore it and focus on obviously posted examples and take them literally.

YOU SHOULD NOT HAVE DONE IT IN THE FIRST PLACE, a cite by Crollo.

If you got drunk and did something you regretted, You should not have gotton so drunk to begin with.

If you smoked weed and did something you regretted, you should not have smoked weed to begin with.
If you posted a picture of you naked on the internet and everybody laughed and exploited it, you shouldn't have posted it to begin with.
If you think because you did something stupid it excuses you doing something stupid afterwards, then you are an absolute idiot.

No, but if I got drunk and broke somebody elses car, then I wouldn't complain when they sued me.

If being drunk suddenly excuses any responsibility for your actions, then fucking sweet, let me go get some beer.

What you are however referring to is getting so drunk your conscience of what is right or wrong is gone and you do stuff you wouldn't normally do. Guess what? Drink responsibly, and you [i]won't have to worry about doing stupid shit, or having your friends upload a video of you running down the street naked while screaming incomprehensible insults at your neighbors.

If you're like me and don't like your pictures being put up on the internet period then it may be agitating when people do that, but in that case [and the case I'm addressing], it's a matter of karma.

If you got piss drunk, and people saw it, then they saw it. You can't just 'erase' that from their memories. Putting it up on youtube is just taking a bigger step meaning more people see it.

You really can't do something stupid then complain or think it's stupid that people address what you said\did. You do stupid shit, then good job.
Crollo CrolloTrollo

Is it really such a hard concept to understand however, that if you don't want something undesirable to be exploited or twisted against you, then don't put it on the fucking INTERNET to begin with.

Posting something embarrassing on Facebook isn't any worse than running around a massive mall with only your underwear on screaming "JEW JEW JEW", at least a hundred people are going to see it and remember it, and you're going to complain when it shows up on the news? Don't put up or do embarrassing stuff to begin with, and you won't have to worry about 'covering it up'.

And if you post embarrassing stuff while drunk, then too damned bad. It's your responsibility, and if you get drunk it is still your responsibility, end of.

Good question [Chickenfist, not Skals ninja post], overall there isn't any form of stock definition of it, but things like people who go through life living like they're at the top when in reality they're at the bottom of the chain, people who live life acting like there are no consequences, living in fairy fantasy land if you will, people who don't treat people as actual people but items of interest [Women: Sex is the most common example of this], there isn't any specific definition because they aren't usually following a fixed set of stupidity levels, but just basically all these smaller things that will define somebody would have to be of very low respect to form a 'Complete fucktard'.
