btw: if you registereed with your ewmail adress rqather than just a nickname hammer will have problems getting past the @. my advice would be to create a new account without using your email, but there might be an easier wway...

true, when i joined there were about 150 members. soon as i came in, there was a swarm of noobs asking really stupid questions (i never forget how i got so frustrated on the forums, only to discover that the reason i couldnt find any entities was because i thought the hammer setup guide was too hard so i didnt bother with ith <generic noob smiley>)
so i generally wasnt noticed to be too much of a burden.

6 years old? cs isnt much better. just because of a games age, doesnt make it any better/worse. i still love playing fallout 2, and that was made quite a while ago too. i even sit down sometimes for a quick bash at doom II. and some new games aint all theyre cracked up to be.

do as thy tutorial tells. go to the "textures" tab and target all the .wad files you want. i.e halflife.wad, liquids.wad, zhlt.wad (you get this with zoners half life tools. theyre better compiling tools than the qtools that come with hammer. if you dont have them, check the links page) ect. ect.

btw, if your running in steam, oyu need to get pakscape (gcfscape?) and manually put in the new models and sprites. dont worry, it sounds alot worse than it is. just open up your pak1.pak and copy the models from there into your models folder. then do the same for sounds and sprites.

btw, DO NOT JUST OVERWRITE THE OLD FOLDERS WITH THE NEW ONES!! you have alot of models, sounds and sprites from the old pak still used in there!
