in Is forcing a spawn point possible? Post #224435
Well erm not sure about the dead body...Test it and see...Otherwise just trigger it to break when player walks on it...Not the effect you're after but I don't know.

And my idea well:

Ok so you have 10 spawns for CT and 10 for T correct? Well place a box over each spawn and tie it to trigger_teleport. Then make sure they are all turned off. Now this bit you'll have to figure out but find an entity that can trigger things randomly and set it to trigger one of the 20 teleports at start of each round.

That way a random player will be teleported to your open area at the start of each round. Hope that helps.

As far as I am aware you can't do that BUT I just realised why not place a teleport brush over each spawn and use an entity that randomly triggers one of them so that whatever player is picked is teleported into that room at the start of the round.

Torrents fill up your modems cashe with IP addresses, so after a little while its essentially a bufferoverflow and nothing gets through. but it still reads connection for a short time.

in Cueing for loops Post #224185
Goldwave is just what you need. I use it all the time and I didn't pay for it...I believe I downloaded the trial which doesn't run out...it just has a timed window when you launch it...Like WinZip.

If you don't know how to do it then read:

Basically open your song or sound in Goldwave and click Tool, Cue Points.

Click new and call it start and the position to choose is 'at start'. Do the same but call it End and obviously click 'at end'.

Save as MP3 or Wav...I think WAV is better since I have found MP3 to be a bit buggy in HL2 however as I wrote this I realised this is HL so yeah save as .wav.

Now this part I don't know so look it up but you need to save it as a certain frequency that HL accepts...

Anyway hope that helps mostly.

Well get a TWHL member to code you one. It doesn't exactly take much effort to paste:

"LightmappedGeneric"
{ "$basetexture" "yourfoldername/yourtexname" }

In a text file and fill in the spaces.

And Normal Mapping is very easy that even I can do it...All you need is the Nvidea Normal Map Plugin or another program called crash something...I forgot the name but anyway use this if you're interested. The results are uncanny:

Recently I have been trying to find something to fill the void whilst I wait for MINERVA 3.
Is he even making it? I mean it has been a very long time since Episode 2...Perhaps he is working in secret :)

For a real-life place recreation...Kasperg knows what I'll say...The Kauffmann House for HL2DM / CSS. Very impressive and atmospheric.

And I don't know is Black Mesa counts as a real place ^_^ but the Black Mesa mod has some great re-creations. And lastly my compo map is a favourite :P

in How to make bots work properly? Post #223574
Did you place info_node's in the places the bots are supposed to walk around in. Then did you compile the map, go in-game, select bots to on and load the map and then let it do its thing.

After that it should be fine. If they keep bumping in to things it may be your map is too dodgy for them and the NAV needs editing. That requires a whole new skill and I'd suggest googling it.

You know what I take back my statement...TWHL hasn't changed...The amount of spammers has.

And thank goodness TWHL is like it is...It's the peoples rather vicious attacks that can make newcomers realise they need to grow up...And I think it was G_kid who said you'll look back at your old comments and actions and think what an idiot you were so either they grow up or the eventually realise they were idiots.

So I pray TWHL stays the way it is forever.

in how to turn off fullbright? Post #223336
Ah and if you didn't know displacements don't seal a map from the void so you have to place a skybox under it. That doesn't mean just place a huge box around the map with sky textured on it as this just adds to the lag and compile times are longer.
