Some admins from here ( as far as I know) don't have a good internet connection and it's really annoying to wait for the images to load . That's why I think TWHL lacks of images . ( i'm not talking about the forums).
One does but that has no bearing on it, the goal is to create a website that's quick regardless. Page processing is NOT just dependant on how fast somebody's internet is. But like I said, loads of images are both unnecessary and quite often an eyesore.

somebody should consider on updating the theme constantly
No. Waste of time and talent. There are far more important things on TWHL's horizon, such as the projects panel. Themes were planned at one stage, but it's an idea currently floating around in limbo because there are far more important things to worry about.
Speaking of internet speeds , I heard that some admins here are having trouble with these speeds . Are you thinking what I'm thinking ? Good !
Huh? I have no idea what you mean.
Yes I agree with that . But it looks too standard . Do you like standard ? I don't.
And it lacks of widgets . Also the polls are usually left for more than one month.
Widgets? Show me a new widget that is both useful and suitable for TWHL's purpose, if you can.

The polls comment is too trivial to even argue with.

Fair enough that some people don't like the colours, people have different tastes, but everything else you're complaining about is just absurd. TWHL3 is a site developed (or actually still in development) for functionality and cleanliness, not messy, in-your-face unnecessaries.

The Snipers update is what I'm really hanging out for, the Medic, Pyro and Heavy are (or were) among my least played classes, and will probably return that way once all the updates are out.

I'd like to see the Sniper get an en-bloc clip for his rifle, so he could fire off 3-5 shots more rapidly than standard, and having to reload after ejecting the entire clip. For extra balance they could not remove crits or something, I dunno.

As for the Arena mode.. I wasn't expecting too much when they said it'd have 5 maps, something small with rehashed maps. The fact that two of them are even new is.. suprising, even if one looks exactly the same as always.

http://www.ajc.com/metro/content/metro/clayton/stories/2008/08/15/no_bigfoot_evidence.html
Of three samples in a preliminary DNA test, one came back inconclusive, one contained traces of human DNA and one had traces of opossum DNA -- probably from something the creature ate, they said.

They didn't produce a body - that's in a hidden location, they said, after being moved from a freezer that broke down a couple of times. They also wouldn't say exactly where they found the creature, and where they claimed they saw a band of others watching them. And they won't let anyone but their own hand-picked scientists examine the body.

The idea that a couple of nutters who dedicate their lives to finding Big Foot (the type of people who are constantly laughed at) turn out to just stumble upon his body is ridiculous.

DNA evidence and photo evidence hardly mean squat in this day and age. You can't catch Sasquatch that easy!
In July, Rick Dyer made claims that he had discovered the deceased body of a possible Sasquatch in the woods of Georgia. A press conference to release alleged photographs and DNA evidence is scheduled for August 15, 2008 at 12 pm PDT. Evidence has been posted on the internet, showing the recent photo from this claim appears to be a hoax: Objective comparison between a theatrical "Sasquatch" costume, and the photo of the "corpse", reveals facial characteristics which appear substantially identical to each other.

5 maps would take Valve 12 months to release. It has to be either one map with 5 zones, or, 1 new map and 4 alterations of the old maps with the new game mode in mind.

Please for the love of God let whatever it is not be farming/industrial themed!

I'm talking about point_spotlights, not light_spot's. It definately works, it's a fairly common technique in Source mapping.

I really don't like tooting my own horn, but if there's one thing I know more about than anything else in Source, it's lighting. :)

While this way does simulate the lighting, it would look pretty choppy. The easiest and cheapest (performance-wise) way of doing this would be to parent point_spotlights to an invisible rotating box and turn them on via the button/trigger.

Point_spotlights have a dynamic light too, which would look just as choppy and lower the performance, I'd disable that in the flags and just use the spotlights sprites to simulate the effect.
4 lines of output per tenth of a second, lots of work, so again, if anyone has a better/faster/easier way to do this, I am all ears.
You can copy and paste I/O commands. Select a group of them, hit copy, and paste the whole lot, then just alter the time parameters. Still a ridiculous amount of work, though.

That would be your basic metal model material there, I think. obviously you'd tweak the settings your texture. $envmaptint could probably be less, otherwise it might look a bit too wet.

You could also use a spec mask so that the reflections only show up where you want. If you do use a spec map though, you will have to use one of the alternate methods as the normal method won't work with a bump map (I'm just assuming you're using/going to use one).
